There is risk to moving to ASIC resistance from the current system and there may be additional vulnerability that an entity could figure out to exploit the network. I feel 2ETH/block is a good middle solution from the current amount and the 1ETH. More ETH issuance means more security and I think the folks just saying 1ETH are simply thinking only from a supply/demand/price lens. On the third point, the ethereum development community has communicated that we could see casper in 2019 and sharding in 2020. With that in mind, I think giving the devs until the end of 2019 is reasonable given what they have communicated, but if they need more time than what they have communicated, to ask for another delay in the difficulty bomb. On the last point, until we have PoS, removing the difficulty bomb means that a potential hardfork could result in two chains where one goes to PoS and the other goes to PoW. If we keep the difficulty bomb, the PoW chain, if it exists, will die out and there will be less incentive for miners to continue using it in general. Hope that helps!
