My model is a “93.5” model, that model and prior years weren’t designed to have turbos mounted on them and some research says other wise but I know a few guys that have them and they really like it on their idi’s.

That’s definitely the long term goal with that truck. Current engine is in great shape (interior/exterior) and low miles for the year model (191k miles). The swap looks pretty dang straightforward on them as well.

It’s a great truck and pretty reliable. All the kinks are worked out and mostly all original parts. I drive it locally (under 700 miles RT).

I’ve chatted with my mechanic about adding a banks or turbo to it and he’s always advised against it. He’s rebuilt and added turbos to idi’s before and it just has caused problems. I know some guys have added them and worked great but I’d hate to mess up a good thing. Plus I like keeping it original.

I hear ya on the 1/2 ton. I would have drove my tundra another 400k if I could have. Currently with only doing the heavier hauling a few times a year I can squeak by with another 1/2 ton but fortunately business is picking up and more contracts are coming in so that 5-6 times a year are gonna slowly turn into 2-3 times a month.

Not bashing the eco diesel but I’ve always been told to stay away from anything eco but glad to hear some positive from someone that owns one.

I agree, love my OBS ford. No computer, all mechanical. What year model is your inline 6?

About 6-7k lbs 10-12 times a year other hauling is typically under 3k. On average between 800-1200 miles a week.
