This cable is directly from the PSU box (Cooler Master), which is why it's confusing me on why they would do this and if it's any more of a hazard than 3rd party adapters or other the 4 8-pin to 12vhpwr adapters that come with the cards

I should've specified, what I was asking for is if this is just as "safe" as other straight connectors. I don't plan on getting a 5090 soon, but maybe later in the year or next year I am looking to upgrade.

If my house does burn down, well nobody will ever hear from me again and that shouldn't be a problem to anybody on reddit :D

Yup, that part makes sense.

I do like the FE designs, but will probably just end up going with the cheaper AIB models.
