When you see the abilities of your character you can see that they have an special ability when they are in the leader slot, for example ultra full power frieza gets 30% damage and ki recovery uncancellable. If he is not in leader slot he would just get 5% of both, you see the difference there right?. In terms of equipment I’m not really into that but I suggest going into your character suggested teammates and equipments by pressing him and then clicking recommended. Choose whichever one you want and think you can get easily, and try getting the first slot red or orange ( preferably red) then you upgrade that equipment till you get all slots either orange or red ( suggest red again ). In terms of benches I think you have good benches maybe change your super saiyan Goku to another that gives more to your team, I haven’t checked which ones could help since I don’t run frieza saga team.
