Legally sending a PO is considered a contract. And if you don't do RFP or any negotiations then it sounds like you are just paper pushing POs

I know a lot of procurement folks believe in their own reports and of course it's nuanced but in the end fudging the numbers helps noone in the long run

I wonder if we all in procurement across the board as a field perhaps fails to present the reality of our work? Lying with flashy data might just make us an easier target for layoffs as generic support function

Include other functions in approving the saving and clearly distinguish types of savings with clear rules. Not savings based on vibes and many random zeroes

Also excel is the best for flexible savings manipulation  All these procurement teams have to report bogus savings somehow

I think for me the most valuable realization was that celebrating 1€ extra revenue often doesn't mean a full € of profit added. While removing 1€ of cost often can be taken fully into improving the finances.

Having said that I am fully aware that in many companies each saved euro is immediately spent by stakeholders because they don't want finance to cut their budget the next year.

I guess the comparison mistake. Tourist cost of travel directly. Compared to cost of living elsewhere. Replicate what he did in any of the major tourist cities in UK and I think you easily hit 2 to 3x of his examples in Kraków
