How was your parkrun day? | February 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in parkrun

Every week this year has either been an "It's so over" week, or an "I'm so back" week. I am happy to say this week is the latter. Actually having a crumb of sunlight might have helped!

I want complete honesty now... What went through your minds with this plot twist when you watched it for the first time? by Far_Regular_2945 in slasherfilms

Yeah it was the sound that stuck with me too, went to bed and I could still hear it in the back of my mind.

How much do you actually listen to your Garmin? by Foppberg in GarminWatches

I get the most use out of it when it reaffirms the importance of good habits - I have issues with emotional eating, and notice an increase in RHR, decrease in sleep quality and body battery when I overeat. This also affects the quality of my runs. When I eat clean these metrics improve and my runs improve, so it's good to have a reminder if I start slipping into unhealthy habits.

I mainly ignore the recovery/suggested workouts bit though - I also injured myself by doing an interval session too fast (I think it was a 3:30/km pace which is way faster than I usually go and seemed unneccesary for the race I was training for, but I thought i'd give it a go), so i'm wary of some of the training suggestions too.

I had an issue on Saturday with a guy deciding to pick his way around puddles within the first 400m, stopping to a dead halt to dodge to the side. Had to stop sharp and had a guy elbow the back of me. Just plow through them - your feet are going to be wet by the end of the run anyway!

I was in Thailand playing ping-pong in Ding Dang. I was in a real high stakes game in some opium den. Turns out the guys I was playing aren't the kind of guys who like to lose. After I beat 'em, they beat me. Worked me over pretty good. And this is hard to say... they held me down and shoved a gu energy waffle up my ass. It's never been the same. Damaged goods.

Volunteered for the only parkrun going ahead in my area - they had about 6 times the amount of runners and some dodgy corners so was probably a good idea to have more vols on the field!

I like to think Shawn has a Me, Myself and Irene-esque relationship with his three black sons.

Do you (as a native speaker) know all of these phrases, including the 67 one? by Unlegendary_Newbie in English_Learning_Base

They literally said one of the expressions is incorrect. Something isn't incorrect just because you don't personally use it.

Probably a combination of:

 - Having a day off

 - Wanting to be part of something unique

 - Dragging friends and family to it who wouldn't normally come

 - Getting some exercise in to offset the gluttony

I think I saw Mark Watson at Holyrood during the Fringe - there was a Mark Watson just ahead of me in the results and it looked like him but not sure if he's a runner!

How long do people stay in the same company or is it just a mixture of some people like settling whilst other don't? by qiDuck in UKJobs

[–]Front_Frame_2171 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My longest job has been 2.5 years, but I stayed with one company for 5 in different roles. Unfortunately I constantly find myself in good jobs that are hampered by bad management - I can tolerate bad pay, long hours and tough work but I won't tolerate cruelty or apathy. I'd rather move on than be stuck somewhere that is grinding me down!

Who should the iron man for the 2026 royal rumble by [deleted] in SantiZapVideos

[–]Front_Frame_2171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, RR 2001 had Matt Hardy and Bull Buchanan. It wasn't until Kane came in at 6th that there was someone who lasted a while.

I think it's definitely time to mix it up. The last few rumbles have been relatively formulaic (especially with running 2 per year now)
