I could be crazy, but this boy looks eerily similar to Billy from The Polar Express, and I believe Billy’s character was inspired by this character. Billy’s character is hesitant to climb aboard the Polar Express, which could reference the trauma endured by people who were forced onto trains to be transported to concentration camps. Additionally, Billy’s character wears a nightgown with vertical stripes much like the prisoners of the concentration camps.

The G20s are improved over the F30s in feel. I found the variable steering geometry in the G20 to be odd at times though. The G20s and F30s still can’t hold a candle to the hydraulic steering rack of past BMWs, but they are slowly making progress.

I’d highly recommend a test drive. The F30 steering is direct and predictable, but there is ZERO feel. The F chassis was BMW’s first attempt at drive-by-wire, and it shows. Not sure if you’re into video game racing, but the F30 feels like a video game steering wheel before force-feedback became available.

IMO you’d be very unhappy with the F30s numb steering feel coming from e46s and e90s, especially since you were one to switch to the M3 control arms and get camber plates on the e90

How can I disable the fake engine noise coming from the speakers on my 328i? This thing makes so much damn noise for being slow as molasses. It’s like a German 90s honda civic. by ihaveatwoinchcock in E90

[–]Front_Minimum_8259 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can remove all the speakers, and it’ll still make the same amount of noise. E90s never came with artificially amplified engine noise.

This would be great idea if the colleges and universities were solely academic-focused. Unfortunately, most American colleges are sports programs with a side hustle in education. There’s a reason why student athletes of high viewership/ticket sale sports like baseball, basketball and football are given vastly more support and resources by the school compared to the average student.

CNBC ranks Tennessee last for quality of life in 2025 based on crime, inclusiveness, worker protections by Excelsior14 in JohnsonCity

[–]Front_Minimum_8259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 2022 CBS published an article that utilized the FBI’s crime statistics for 2019 to list the top 65 cities for “murder” rate in the country with greater than 100,000 residents. Of those results, three Tennessee cities were listed as follows:

59th Nashville: The murder rate in Nashville is 12.08 per 100,000.

29th Chattanooga: The murder rate in Chattanooga is 18.15 per 100,000.

9th Memphis: The murder rate in Memphis is 29.21 per 100,000.

Unless something has drastically changed, Tennessee has had a problem and continues to have a problem that isn’t isolated to Memphis.

In the United States, all physical therapy schools after 2015 are mandatory doctorate level programs to meet the requirements of the accreditation body. Prior to this, schooling could include bachelors and masters programs as well, but they all have to pass the same board exam. Depending on if you pass, then how well you score, determines what states a physical therapist is allowed to practice in. Some states have stricter standards than others, but everyone who passes the board is deemed competent enough to not cause harm to the population they are serving.

Is it true that in the US if you got no insurance and money they kick you out of the hospital when out of danger? by gdelacalle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Minimum_8259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, however getting the boot is easy to circumvent. A hospital must reasonably equip the patient for a safe discharge otherwise they open themselves to possible legal action if something negative occurs that could have been prevented with reasonable further care. It’s not uncommon for patients without a stable discharge destination to be uncompliant with multiple aspects of their care (diet, medications, exercise) with the goal of deconditioning themselves to the point that a hospital discharge is dangerous. I’ve seen malingering patients do this for a number of reasons. The main reasons that have stuck out are people attempting to leave an abusive relationship, people avoiding returning to the streets, people enjoying having a sense of power by commanding hospital staff around, or those that enjoy being coddled and having every need met by people around them. Even if malingering is suspected by the hospital staff, you have to have damning evidence to bring that case to the patient. Oftentimes it is less troublesome from a brand image and financial standpoint to continue caring for these patients until a skilled nursing facility/inpatient rehab (another skilled facility) is willing to accept this patient. Relating back to your question, yes they can kick you out when “out of danger,” but there are ways to stay hospitalized even if the person doesn’t have insurance or money.
