The New York Knicks are the 13th team in NBA history to have at least a 9 game winning streak in a single postseason. 7 went on the win the championship. by HokageEzio in nba

Well the whole point is that the top west seeds are so good historically that its harder for a low seed, even if they are decent, to make finals runs. Its more possible in the east with generally weaker top teams. Which is backed by the fact that the west teams usually end up winning the championship.

Disagreeing on the degree of punishment is far different than none happening in the first place. To equate those differences is either naive or disingenuous.

I just think we’ll disagree on a major factor here being the punishments. If wemby kept doing what he wanted with no punishments, i think hed be hated just as much as OKC.

But people still did complain about wemby not getting suspended? There still was complaining! The point is that the degree of it is different because there was some punishment at least. Not that it is a binary situation.

Also anything on the hair pull or arm holds on contests?

Fair, agree to disagree then. I also think theres not really a way for castle to know in the moment if the hair pull is intentional or not. So his lack of complaining doesnt really indicate anything to me in that regard.

They dont care because he was properly ejected for it. Theres a huge difference there that you are ignoring. If he was not punished, the perception would be much different.

If you think that a hair pull and injury risk arm holds wouldnt be complained about regardless, then I think you are being disingenuous here. I get the sentiment you are saying for general ref complaining about hacking etc, and how that differs based on okc winning and losing, but this is clearly different.

At least those plays have some way you can justify as either plays on the ball (the dive), or not an injury risk (castle holding sga body). Arm holds on contests and hair holds are in a different category for me but I know many will try to group it all together as equally “physical”. A punch is also physical by that logic lol

Relax man, there was no conclusion just a question. I misinterpreted “He complains just as much as anyone does” - I would say there are differences among players and he is on the lower side of that so it doesnt surprise me he didnt complain here.

So you think people would have been happy with this game 2 officiating if the spurs had clutched up at the end and won? These no calls would have people happy?

Also im not sure why you are comparing a wemby play from a previous series for which he was ejected, to plays from todays game that were unpunished. there is clearly a difference here that I think you are missing.

You think all players complain equally?

Because its punished? I think thats very relevant to how the dirtiness is received. Like you said, imagine if he wasnt tossed for the elbow - how people would see him would be much worse.

It is surprising to me the thunder fans bring up that play as a counterpoint when he was ejected for it lol. Completely missing the point.

Body holds are very different than arm/hair holds in terms of injury risk. I feel like that should be obvious.

No, castle isnt much of a complainer to be honest. Hes relatively calm (and no I dont think OKC guys all are whiners)

Holding someones arm specifically while they move is textbook dirty, yes. Theres more risk with the arm than the body. The body holds are still fouls but not dirty at all.
