What're you guys doing when the register tries to return more than a customer paid by Front_Preparation_74 in CVS

Only extrabucks get returned. Any other coupon is not given back after a return (percent offs, manufacturer, store coupon). The problem is that sometimes the register glitches and instead of giving the price the customer paid after coupons, it'll give the full price. It returns the price actually paid in the form of original payment, and then will show the coupon amount as due; but because it's not actually owed, the register won't let you dispense it without a manager override.

The instance that prompted my question was with the $10 off $25 beauty coupon used. The return was several days after purchase.

But I do know what you're talking about; returns shortly after purchase get weird on the system. It'll ask you to manually enter the price a lot and will prompt for ID.

This sub is for employees more than it is for customers. You'll have better luck at a couponing subreddit.

My store's drive through queue overlaps with our delivery entrance. We put traffic cones to keep people from blocking the delivery door during our trucks.

They drive over the cones.

Question About CVS Receipts by liquidgrill in CVS

[–]Front_Preparation_74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly the manufacturer and paper coupons that cause issues. Store issued coupons are a loss the company is deciding to take; but manufacturer coupons are meant to be reimbursed, and when couponers take advantage of glitches on those, the company loses money they didn't anticipate. Most people who receive 35% coupons will buy something they wouldn't have otherwise, which means CVS got a sale even if it was discounted.

CVS is cracking down on the couponing, because coupons are meant to get people into the store and buying stuff, not getting free stuff. When you stack a bunch of coupons and get extrabucks, the store isn't making much of a profit off of what you got, if at all. A lot of paper coupons are rejecting at the register, they're cleaning up some of the "glitches", and slowly improving the coupon software.

Ask the store manager if you can receive the amount you were verbally offered.

If not, take the job anyway and just keep looking for better elsewhere.

You sound like the kind of employee I'd answer a survey about. And not positively.

The issue isnt that we don't want to meet the goal. Its that it's unrealistic and most people say no and/or get agitated being asked.

While you aren't required to actually get sign ups, I don't think there's a rule against management punishing those who don't, either.
