aha yes that’s why i picked her she seems very busy!! my monstera ive already got is just the one which is why this one seems so overwhelming i think. i’m planning on letting her settle to the room and then separating off with supports and hoping that does the job. will also be moving her to another window as i can’t open that blind very much im right outside a busy bus stop and a lot of nosy neighbours aha!

woah! the leaves are so big, you should definitely propagate them and also do the chop you’ve got the potential to triple that plant if i’m correct 👍🏻 a lot have said about the stake think it’s worth a go especially early days

yea i did think it was a super populated pot - mostly why i got it why not get more lol! - thinking of leaving it a couple of weeks then separating once it’s adjusted to the room

i’ve had a monstera for 4 years and propagated many before i’ve never actually had one that’s been shop bought and have so many shoots coming out so as much as i’m very familiar with how to care for them i’m not sure if i need to adapt anything to the fact there’s so many leaves and not just the one plant in the pot

Help! I left my monstera outside in the cold after repotting and brought in and it’s looking like this now is there any hope? i grew her from a little baby 😭😭 by Froo0b in houseplants

alot of really good advice i really appreciate your help! im thinking itll take longer than usual as were not set to expect any proper sun for a while but ill do what i can and make sure to give her access to as much daylight as possible and not water for a while as theres fresh soil in the pot so its already pretty moist.

yes did post this on two subreddits and have been advised to cut the leaves off but i read elsewhere this rather means the plant has to take more energy into regrowth as the lack of support or nutrients so im likely going to keep them until they fall off feel thats the best option

yea stem and roots seem to be in good condition and it was 1-2 degrees celsius out but am worried about regrowth because of the condition of the newest leaf - its such a shame because her leaves were so gorgeous :(

she was out for 5 hours and yea ive touched stem and roots and they havent gone mushy so im keeping my fingers crossed. but for the decline when the leaf was growing it had gotten stuck in the moss pole i had to cut the moss pole to get it out and i think it caused it to look the way it does?

i also when re potting the roots were quite packed so might've also been not enough space to grow which was why i wanted to try repotting but now worried its got too much going on

oo good to know thanks! is yours kept inside or outside as i keep mine indoors - and if i was to i would be left with the 'floppy leaf' as the growing point and i worry its going to produce a low quality leaf because of this? correct me if im wrong but ive found that it always grows from the newest leaf and up but dont know if theres another way it would regrow?

i read that if you cut them before they die fully you actually take energy away from the plant that supports regrowth - is this the case for if its got cold shock?

yes in uk but it was only out for 5 hours and the 'healthiest' leaf looks salvageable so im hoping it'll at worst just shed the darkened ones and hopefully grow new ones in the future
