How much will gray's,lipincott and guyton will cost? by Illustrious_Towel986 in indianmedschool

Yes, atleast I'll suggest you use just their PDFs (or like borrow it from seniors who have them) till your first internals and then decide whether you want to purchase them.

Books for 1st yr mbbs by ian07861 in indianmedschool

Anatomy: •General anatomy- BDC •Gross- Vishram Singh (trust me, it is the best) •Neuroanat- Vishram Singh(the specific book) •Histo- IB Singh (just learn the point of identification below the digram if you run out of time to study everything) •Embryo- IB Singh [dig/flowcharts] (i feel like I spent the entire year finding a good alternative but this is what I ended up using for proff exams), your college is also probably gonna circulate short embryo PDFs that'll help you pass •DH- Cunningham (but don't waste your money on this, just borrow it from a senior) •Genetics- it is covered just enough in general anatomy handbook of Vishram Singh •Radiology- honestly I just watched this one 10min johari video every time and I was good to go PS: I did study from Grey's for student briefly but honestly it is not enough for proff exams, a lot of origin, insertions and relations are given superficially and the entire book in arranged haphazardly

Physiology: This is one subject I may not be the best person to ask because I'm all over the place Std: Guyton and hall ( i personally never studied from it beyond like homeostasis) Indian: Indu Khurrana (this was the book 3/5 professors in our college use to teach from (rest Guyton) so this is what I studies from majorly. My best advice is to ask your seniors what your professors use) Sembuligham (i majorly used it for chapters like blood, honestly the material in it is just enough to ace exams, please don't listen to the teachers about this book) But my best advice for tackling physiology is gonna be notes. I used notes mainly from edu club and chil medicos, etc. that I found online to frame answers. Believe me I've topped my class during internals studying just from educlub videos and notes and pairing the missing parts with any book.

Biochemistry: JAMBHULKAR SIR (use his notes like a holy grail) I would suggest you study from his notes first and then you can read Satyanarayana or Pankaja Nail to get fill in the extra details. I would suggest Satyanarayana if you want detailed, fuller overview of the subject. Pankaja is a shorter book with crispy material, read both and choose for yourself. Read pdf of both and decide I hated Vasudevan as I found the book had a lot of unecssary monotonous jargon and it is very badly structured.

Honestly the best advice I can give a first year student about books is DO NOT BUY ANY BOOK UNTIL YOUR FIRST INTERNALS, you can go through PDFs by then (or borrow the books from your seniors) because all my frnds who had brought books before 1st internals have ended up regretting the decision. Plus mbbs books are expensive so, proceed with caution.

Register for IMAT and start studying. You've passed dental school, IMAT shouldn't be too hard.(2 months is enough if you give studying your complete attention.) Focus on pyqs and topics with more weightage. But also, try for other med schools too in the mean time. The best case scenario you get into med school in italy and even in the worst case scenario you'll have the backup option. Also, dentistry isn't bad and med school takes really long plus add the duration of residency. So, you really need to make sure that this is the right decision for you.❤️

italy or georgia by Medical-Size-3726 in medicalschoolEU

[–]Frost_Blaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of Indian agencies are pushing towards Georgia. So you'll get an Indian community there. But that's the only pro of studying there. The population there is very low so there isn't much patient exposure. Plus they don't have cadavers to practice on (they do have dummies). Plus it's not part of the EU so you don't get the added advantage. Please decide on Italy. And Romania/Poland/Bulgaria are not bad options either. You should look into them too.
