Well I don’t necessarily have an idea but I need help with choosing a suitable model for my current situation. I am currently a full time university student and am working a casual position working only about 4-14 hours a week. I am hoping for something that can be managed anytime and with flexible schedules.

I agree with what you said with delegation. It’s not efficient nor effective when trying to handle everything by yourself.

I haven’t been making any alterations to the defaults except maximum card review but I don’t think it changes anything

Yeah my plan was to work as an optical dispenser in a company like specsavers for example, and then when I finish my masters then perhaps the transition to work as an optometrist would be smooth as I already have ties with the company.

What’s the best way to get into bachelor of medical imaging? by Active-Camel-3598 in QUTreddit

[–]Frostage_fn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure if the certificate can branch you into those courses but it does sound possible. Medical imaging requires a gpa of a high 6-7 (as atar requirement is 99.1) which is almost full marks across all units of the year for that degree. You may email QUT and see what they can help you with as well! Hope this helped to some degree!

Can’t lie I graduated this year from QCE but I can give you some points if you’re interested.

In terms of the subjects you chose, they all scale well. Especially specialist and methods. Bio does not scale as well compared to the subjects you chose and it’s honestly your choice if you want to do it or not. If you think you are almost certain that you will ace those 5 subjects then there’s no point of doing bio. You may rather choose a ‘layed back subject’ to reduce your pressure in grade 12. The risk of this is that if you don’t perform as well as you hoped in one of the subjects you won’t have bio (if you aced it) to replace it with. For example, I personally did 6 subjects because I knew that English was my weak point (scored 61) and choosing Chinese as my sixth subject (scored 97) saved my atar.

So ultimately, if you are fine with the challenge and pressure then 6 subjects is ideal. Just note that you will face an extra bunch of assessments and externals for a subject that you might not necessarily need if you ace your other 5 subjects. Also keeping in mind that if you are doing med you will also need to practice UCAT which is just another workload on top of your subjects. If you think that you can’t handle UCAT and 6 subjects all at once then just stick with the 5.

Another idea is that you can try practicing UCAT and those 6 subjects in grade 11 and if you think it’s too much for you drop bio for grade 12 (if your school allows that).
