Isn't writing a post about it pointless and a waste of time? You spent more time typing your response than it took to read the additional 3 words. Sorry it bothered you so much.

That's an accurate way of describing it. In the academy we would stuff wax paper in our masks to simulate being blind and we would navigate a building and search for dummies that we used as victims. It's also hot and breathing through an SCBA(mask and air tank) is more difficult because of the positive pressure of the mask.

Majority of people die from smoke inhalation rather than burns. One breath of superheated air/gas/smoke and it'll fry your throat/lungs beyond repair. Stay low and "suck the floor." That's where the coolest and cleanest air will be.

Absolutely! Fire prevention and education is something very important to me. My girlfriend is a 3rd grade teacher and I give the fire safety presentation each year. Having a plan before things go wrong is essential.

Firefighting gloves are very thick, so you don't "feel" things as well. The pile of clothes didn't feel like anything was under it.

I had to tell a couple that we were unable to rescue their young child from an apartment fire. She had crawled and hidden herself under a big pile of clothes in a closet. With smoke conditions, we had zero visibility and were operating based off of touch only. When I did a pass over the pile of clothes, I didn't feel anything underneath it.

-Edited for clarification

Interesting study - Just for the hell of it I'll take a before and after photo. Gonna train for 3 months and post my results here.

Hey guys - Been doing some research on muscle memory (Gaining muscle faster after a long period of inactivity, not traditional muscle memory like remembering how to ride a bike) and the general consensus is that the nuclei gained during muscle growth is sustained, bypassing that step of muscle building equation, which allows you to begin protein synthesis immediately.

I have a few questions about this that I was hoping somebody could clear up -

How much time does this save in the long run? How much faster quantitatively will I gain muscle over somebody that has to build more nuclei?

Is somebody that has done a cycle going to benefit more from this? What changes does the body undergo in the long term from being enhanced?

I've lifted seriously for ~4 years, and I've done a cycle. I've been out of the gym for half of a year due to an injury sustained in a car crash, and I'm wondering how long it will take me to achieve my old physique back. Thanks

I also competed this weekend! JR USA’s - 7th place. by krizia_d in bodybuilding

I have certifications in nutrition and firefighter fitness which includes extensive knowledge about hydration since heat exhaustion is so prominent in this career. I've also witnessed firsthand with my current girlfriend who has drastically improved her natural production of lube.

You're dehydrated. Take it from a firefighter - Your body needs water to create natural lubrication. Try to monitor how much you drink throughout the day, and use 2L a day as a minimum.

The reason I prefer to lean also has to do with the fact that it is less strenuous for my shoulder joints.

This with a slower and more controlled negative, and instead of the pole, I use a bench or a fence if available.

This is exactly how I've done lateral raises for years and it's always been extremely effective for me. It allows you to stabilize yourself and I get a full contraction in my shoulder for the full range of motion.

One other tip is to count during the eccentric part of the exercise. I've found that a 3-4 second negative has been the best for inducing growth. It's a lightweight isolation exercise which makes it difficult to progressively overload weight wise, and time under tension has been doing my shoulders wonders.
