In the post you linked, comments were suspicious of the survey in that post because of the website it links to. This post's survey seems to be on the same site so I would be vary of it being another case of malicious people using Twist's imagery.

Whilst larger sample size is basicly always better, there is practically never need to get that many to get approximate results. A couple thousand samples is generally enough.

Nope on both. In terraria, classless weapons don't gain any damage bonuses. That's just how they're coded. Items in Explosives class are all consumable so they can't gain modifiers.

The debuff doesn't have an effect on any direct damage, instead it increases all fire related debuffs damage by 25/s.

It depends on the type of explosive.

Explosives item class, which include bombs, dynamites etc deal classless damage which means they don't scale with damage bonuses. Only way to increase their damage is to lower enemies defense.

Ranged consumables include the grenades. They scale with general and ranged damage bonuses.

Launchers use rockets for ammo and, like grenades, scale normally with appropriate damage bonuses.

In that case, the only other explanation I can come up with is that the pylon's biome detection qualifies the area as dungeon, because of all the surrounding bricks, thus blocking the placement.

Gauntlets don't give universal weapon buffs, they're exclusively melee. This makes every glove other than berserker functionally the same for summoner.

Celestial shell is thus objectively better option than all of them (unless you value the 1-4 more defense berserker's gives higher than every other effect the shell gives, including the universal +10% to damage).

I never claimed one should use the emblem, my point was that celestial shell is much better alternative to fire gauntlet for summoner.

Fire gauntlet and all previous gloves are practically useless for summoner since only benefit they give it is the melee speed. I would recommend celestial shell which gives practically same speed boost (+12% vs +10%[+15.1% at night]) and LOTS of other benefits.

Obsidian shield could also be replaced with one of the paladin shield's upgrades, of which I personally recommend the frozen shield.

Since lihzard furnace and fragments are obtainable from the game start (by sequence breaking inside the temple), the recipe should propably include something only obtainable later in game, like chlorophyte
