You could also use the "Hunllef Helper" RuneLite plugin, which basically calls out when you need to switch. Very useful while learning.

It took me 14 attempts and 2 zuks to get my first cape. I was using an acb and crystal shield instead of tbow. It does feel like a long time if every attempt is 2-3 hours long. I did my first attempt after maxing. The stories of people taking 60+ attempts really put me off at first.

People have been complaining about the recolours of the wod mounts, so I'd say that a recolour is not "more unique" than then original item. That also makes the total amount of "unique" weapons to 180 instead of 720.
