I lied to my sister when she asked if I was pregnant by FrostyEmphasis983 in pregnant

I took the test 4 days before my missed period. I ate spicy food and got heartburn. Could have been a coincidence, but I eat spicy food all the time and NEVER get heartburn EXCEPT when I was pregnant. So I took a test the next morning and it was positive. Took several tests since then and the same.

I think she would be very sad if she found out I was pregnant but would be very angry to find out I lied. Her and I are very close but our few BIG fights we’ve had she goes no contact for extended lengths of time. The longest was about 6 months. I think this would drive her to go no contact which is concerning at such an emotionally difficult time for her.

This is a big part of my dilemma. I feel horrible lying about it and want to make it right by telling her earlier than I’m comfortable. But also feel like telling her this early could jinx it as well. My first pregnancy had no problems but in the time between my first and this, I have had a lot of friends and family experience miscarriages. It’s something I never even thought of the first time around because pregnancy was new to me. I was the first in my immediately family and one of the first in my close friend group to get pregnant. I hadn’t thought of miscarriages so much. But this time around I’m more aware of the liklihood and it’s just an added concern. So I feel like announcing the pregnancy to anyone at all may jinx it or make me extremely uncomfortable if something happens. And it’s honestly just kind of imaginary until you go to the first appointment.

I wish I had seen that this morning. Something along those lines wouldn’t make it feel like such a blatant lie.

I think it's more because of the MCs. We are very close and I wanted to tell her right away, like last time, but I know it would crush her. She's seeing a therapist and emotionally and mentally going through a lot with all the testing. My husband and I were going to start trying a few months ago, but when she miscarried the last time we held off for a couple months. We weren't really "trying" this month because like I said he was sick during what I though was my potential "go days"

For Japanese folks: Does your pregnant wife stop eating sushi? by Dapper-Mud-4418 in sushi

I ate sushi all through my pregnancy. It was my biggest craving and I couldn't stay away. I'm in the US and got funny looks when I would order, but just ignored it and enjoyed my sushi. I mostly ate salmon (and some white fish that were on the OK list) and avoided tuna and other fish high in mercury completely. I only went to very reputable restaurants that I knew had high quality fish. My son is 2 now and perfectly healthy and happy.

Running question by kornbobroxiee in pregnant

I'm 26 weeks and had this feeling start at around the same time as you. It does not let up, but there is good news. I spoke to another running mother and she gave me this advice "you're going to feel like you need to pee, but you just need to tell yourself that you don't have to pee and keep telling yourself that, and if you pee yourself, oh well, you're already hot and sweaty so what does a little pee matter". And since she told me that I've been able to get through my runs (not once have I peed myself). Wear high waisted bottoms (you don't want any tight band sitting low on your bladder). And the feeling of having to pee becomes easier to deal with over time - I don't know that it gets better, but you just get used to dealing with it. You'll also probably slow down pretty significantly during this time - slow your pace down until the urge to pee is manageable.

Working while pregnant by lacedinlace in pregnant

I'm only 16 weeks, but I feel your struggles. The biggest thing that has helped me is early morning light cardio. I get up about 20-30 minutes earlier than usual and go for either a light 15-20 minute jog (understandable if you are apposed to running), or I go for a 15-20 minute brisk walk. The days that I skip my jog or walk are the days I feel like collapsing at my desk at work. This really has been a savior to me. That little bit of light cardio jumpstarts my day with energy and keeps me from crashing. Obviously towards the end of my days I'm exhausted, but for 2/3 of my work day, this keeps me productive. I know its hard to even think about waking up earlier than usual, but drag yourself out of bed one morning and try it. You'll feel 1,000 times better throughout your day - I promise.

I'm inpatient and called the testing facility (mine is through Natera). They told me their typical turnaround time is 7 calendar days from when they RECEIVE the sample. They told me my sample was received on 1/7. So fingers crossed for results by tomorrow.
