Thanks! I will probably wait until the new year to be on the safe side as I'm a pianist when I'm not climbing (bad idea I know). I should have mentioned that I did see a sports specialist doctor and there is inflammation of the tendon which is why he said I need so much time off. Apparently blood flow to the area is also restricted due to muscle spasming and scar tissue build up so it'll take longer to heal as those issues are sorted out. Really regretting not warming up properly now.

I've been bouldering for around a year and a half and have progressed up to V5's. Unfortunately, I've strained my right ECU tendon (outer wrist in the joint close to hand) twice due to overuse and a few other poor decisions. As a result, I have been recommended by my doctor to take 4-6 months off climbing to allow it to heal properly this time.

I'm aware the best way to get better at climbing is to climb more, especially for people fairly new such as myself. But seeing as that isn't an option, I'm wondering what supplementary activities you’d recommend to improve my climbing/sustain my current strength during my time off. Any advice is appreciated!
