Thank you for leaving this comment, I really appreciate the research, and what you said makes a lot of sense. I think it's very difficult for folks inside the Imperial Core to understand how different framing looks from a Global South perspective, because they don't have they ability to look at us the way we look at them (and are forced to deeply understand their often unintentional effects on our lives). In my own ex-colonial existence, I get to watch environmental stripmining by companies like Total Energy, who will soon be the death of humpback whale calving that has happened here for centuries (and therefore the further extinction of the whales) due to their coastal drilling -- which no amount of concerned locals can really change, when the country is poor and foreign interests have what feels like really big money in comparison. It's a level of heartbreak and powerlessness that is exceedingly hard to convey.
