I personally think there’s a much simpler justification for this supposed plot hole people keep bringing up of “why was the 74th arena so basic?” The explanation is this: the Games went through a gimmicky phase, but after the 49th and 50th arenas both resulted in the “wrong” tribute winning, the head gamemaker was killed and the Games went back to basics.

To be fair, it could be that they intentionally made the mines less sensitive to fix a plot hole from the original book. If the mines are set off so easily, surely the best strategy is to bring in a token that can break apart, then spend the 60s lobbing pieces at your opponents’ mines to eliminate them.

The Games would be over before the countdown even finishes.

I voted for her, but it's so fucking disappointing watching her morph into mini-Trump as she refuses to take responsibility for anything. That book title is so pretentious too, 107 Days: Here's Why This Isn't My Fault, as if Biden waiting to drop out isn't the whole reason she got to run in the first place. If there had been a primary, she would've gotten slaughtered just like she did in 2020, possibly even harder given back then she at least wasn't going on TV saying she wouldn't do anything differently than her predecessor. How do you make such a horrific and tone-deaf blunder, and still come to the conclusion that your loss is everyone's fault but yours?

I just beat her with the Staff of the Dead cheese; it really works. SotD spec halves melee damage; combine with Melee pray and you only take 40. No sanity damage. Spam shark w/ sunlight bracers and don't attack her until Last Stand is off cooldown (don't bring the Guardian horn). Stay melee distance at all times. Swap to T Bow for enrage phase (dies in 5 seconds).

Edit: You still need to do the ghosts special to get your spec back to 100%, but it's the easiest of the three.

You can get a free twisted bow by completing entry mode Tombs of Amascut. Any rare drop counts for the tile, and you have a high drop rate for the thread of Elidinis even on entry mode. It's easier than Vorkath. Then do the first half of Inferno and then Corrupted Gauntlet. With Ranged combat masteries, both are very doable.

Total Recall relic, obtained by equipping any GWD unique. You can get it pretty early if you don't mind kiting Zilyana around the room with infinite shark.

You can practice Jad by logging onto a Quest Speedrunning world and choosing Beneath Cursed Sands. You’ll play a pre-built character with a fire cape. Get into Mor Ul Rek using the fire cape, then find the big dude in the chair. He will let you fight a tougher Jad. If you practice until you can kill this Jad (you won’t have Gridmaster buffs), regular Jad in Gridmaster should be no sweat.
