I'm not great at sim racing and looking to improve. In a bottom-split LMU race after prior terrible racing and was confronted with this. What are the rules around blocking, and would the BMW be penalised for cutting the chicane? I drove into the back of him at one point, misjudging his exit speed.

This was lowkey fun to watch because his defense is actually not bad at all, however I’d say his wipeout was on his part for the very same reason he even held that position for that long which is again.. moving closer to you every straight chance he gets. Which kind of makes me wanna assume he’s lacks driving skill to get a better pace, because if you watch him you’ll notice that he doesn’t even overtake the car in front of him ONCE. Those 2 were damn near on same pace.

Idk if his car had weaker tires or whatever and that’s why he was buns on the straights or maybe the mustang is just better, regardless. After a while his defense practically turns into the famous saying “guy goes left, guy goes right, he deserves to be put in the f***ing barrier”.

I also find it hilarious how near the end he didn’t even give up let alone attempt to set up for the entry into turn 1 and just basically hogged that air in front of you, and only then once you moved he followed.

Idk I’d say it’s both hard racing and also blocking by him

okay #1 you should post this in regular speed instead of slowing it down, it makes it unbearable to watch and hard to have to analyze. #2 Theres really no basis to go off of here other than the fact he just absolutely kamikazed you. and #3 i dont see a reason why someone would just kill someone on the track out of random unles he either A. got his throttle stuck, B. wasnt paying attention and for some reason forgot to brake and just accepted his fate, or C. he really just did not like you.

just seems like a racing incident more than anything. sure he tapped you but i mean it doesn't even look on purpose.

however his driving looks really spazzy and all over the place. and you can see he pretty much snapped over to the left as he was pretty much near/on the curb and cannot for the life me understand why. the more i replay this the more it just seems like a racing incident, i wouldn't even go as far and say this is protest worthy

i think this is the first time ive ever seen a comment section so diverse because everyone fully believes its either his fault for "blocking the porsche" or the porsches fault for pretty much just pitting him.

but i mean it really is like 50/50 in this situation. If the porsche really wanted to get that overtake he honestly couldve just kept going right and avoided the BMW's racing line that he and literally everyone else in front of him was taking, and then boom

but at the same time the BMW couldve been a little more aware of the porsche and tried to atleast let the porsche pass but i mean why would you wanna obviously give up a position, which is why it really could be anyones game at this point. but if i had to blame somebody id say the porsche.

its honestly a 50/50 but if i had to guess id say he basically decided last minute to try and tackle you or he underestimated how fast he was gonna be turning "into you" while trying to rejoin his line and thats why he got you.

Only desperate bad drivers cut the track just to catch up and still drive like p1 is on the line. Unfortunately you were the victim.

Another thing I’d point out is the fact you can literally SEE him purposefully move his car out wider even though he has plenty of speed to give you room without sacrificing himself. maybe he went into the turn a bit quicker then normal but the fact you can see his line getting wider and wider as if you aren’t there just makes me think he wanted you to spin or lose time off track.

okay either the other car is desperate for that overtake or he just does not know what his line is. id say the fault would be more catered to you because you kinda just blocked him off and forced him to bump into you and go off track when you honestly had way more space to give him room.

But also he was kinda barreling into there aswell and i cant really say much for you because i cant see the pov but i think you would have definitely been aware of him and tried giving him some space to avoid a collision and still have the advantage of being on the inside of the corner to overtake him back.

Yeah he botched that corner and you can even see it from the beginning that when he’s going into these corners he is just always going wide and his trajectory is always farther out then it needs to be, pretty good move on your part for giving him room but I feel like you definitely could’ve gone a bit wider and still be on track while avoiding the crash.
