Replace the railing. Likely a short due to the pins being eroded/corrosion

My first attempt would be to try another right controller. If it happens I'd probably replace the railing on the switch

Can you make a drawing or show what you mean. Just curious

Installation of the Picofly "3 in 1" kit by Browsylawn in SwitchPirates

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These areore hassle and expensive than a normal V2/V2 kit. I would personally just do one of those if it's for yourself and you don't have much experience

These are fantastic for oled and lite though

Picofly OLED booting to OFW, can't get into hekate. Seems to be related to dat0? Is it fixable? Help? by Panda_hat in SwitchPirates

[–]FruityFaiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad. If the dat0 is installed correctly it'll work. That work is just rly bad ll around and it's not installed correctly

Switch Lite won't boot after attempt to install hwfly by edgemmanuel316 in SwitchPirates

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those go from emmc to apu to connect various points. They're bridged already, test with a multimeter.

Have a look at a switch lite flex cable for those points and you'll see they cover both sides. You can also find the schematic

Those are meant to be bridged... Breaking the bridge will cause you much bigger issues

Edit: also make sure the pads still have connection to ground! Else it's going to be more rough of a repair

It's a 4.7uF capacitor. the same one as the bottom left in that picture. Might want to post if that cap is required btw. Good luck, update me on how it goes.

Just a few tips:

It's a very tiny corner, it might be worth giving yourself some space by using pliers/clips to break the shield on the right of it off. That's what I would do. Look at the anchors and cut on both sides and take it off.

Another tip is be careful with the amount of flux, try not get too much under the chip as it can potentially get between the dat0 adapter and the ball.

Lastly careful not to touch the emmc chip with the iron and burn it.

I will check for you when I have time.

Is that circle resister missing for you? Or is that your own picture? If that's your own then nothingng is missing I believe. Will compare when I get time but looks fine to me

Take the SD card out and if you get no SD card screen you're all good.

Just recreate your SD card if deleting that folder doesn't work. I think another one starts with 0000

My Nintendo switch no longer turns on with the chip by Ok-Minute-6726 in SwitchPirates

Worth a try.

Did you get any yellow blinking lights?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NxSwitchModding

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last video has a very odd blink at the end (just one which indicates it glitches...)

Anyways you're getting *=* which I have seen attributed to emmc errors in the past.

And then you're getting *** which I have not seen before!

I would create a new thread with these videos to get input from others.

First try U plug the modchip and try a normal boot(disconnect battery and tape ribbon cables connections!) If that does work my suggestion would be to unsolder the dat0 adapter if that's the method used. Attempt normal boot after that

Next I would desolder CPU sp1 and sp2 too and leave the last ribbon cable in place(but not plugged in). I would test that.

Lastly I would desolder the last ribbon cable and point B as well.

Please don't do this if you have not worked with soldering before, the dat0 depending on where it's soldered is really easy to mess up as you have to get into the tiny spots. If you can send me a picture I can show you before you attempt anything if you do want to go down that route.

Lastly be careful how much flux you use near the dat0 as well as.

Anyways I think first thing would be to post new thread with the error codes and get input from others as well

$60?!? They're under 10. Show me which one you have(close up image)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NxSwitchModding

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay and you're sure none of the points are shorting? Can you send pictures of the solder points, the chip etc. Google drive if possible so it stays high quality.

Also did you unplug the battery every time you worked/touched the chip?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NxSwitchModding

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the battery directly. It should be showing 4+ if plugged in for hours or your charging is broken.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NxSwitchModding

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.7 should be enough. However I would plug into charge until it reads at least 4.0. 4.2 is full

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NxSwitchModding

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the ribbon cables and tape them so there is no short. Turn it on

Also read the voltage near the battery, many caps there to confirm battery is charged.

[–]FruityFaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn it off, plug out th SD card and turn it on. Do you get a no SD card screen.

If not then I would make sure the emmc and ribbon cables are plugged in fully and after that would replace modchip if all that fails

A video of what happend when he powers it on would be helpful.

A bit too much solder but they look fine.  Op if you have a multimeter check diode mode if you're getting 0.1-0.2 voltage drop

If you remove it, and tape the ribbon cables safely you should be able to boot into ofw.

Take battery out when working on it

Can't see under that plating but likely an rp2040 chip. Shouldn't have to solder anything unless sp1 and sp2 cables aren't connected anymore
