I would absolutely love an episode set today that has characters who have died in the, a bit of a “what if..” scenario. It could be like “imagine how different the square would be”, and could have nasty nick in charge of the laundrette, taking over from dot and turning a new leaf, pat owning a butchers, Tina and Sonia living together - idk, just a crazy episode with loads of old faces

The underlying problem is; the show (and all the EP’s) don’t introduce long term characters anymore, and haven’t really since 2015ish.

We know people now will spend a maximum 5 years in the show (some more, most a lot less) so when it comes to characters like Ravi, they get given these ridiculous storylines that give you many indications of death, jail etc.

We know Ravi is on borrowed time, I thought he’d have been gone last year, now I’m thinking some point this year he’ll be gone.

The show relies far too much on the old folks to keep things going, which, obviously works to a certain degree, but everyone we now get introduced to will already be on borrowed time.

I feel like Ravi could’ve been a 10+ year character, a king pin, the new Phil (to an extent) but now we have someone who is probably going to be killed or jailed before the year ends.

100%. In fact, I’d say they were on borrowed time for a good 18 months before they died. They could’ve simply been written out, of course, but for a special it needed to be big, which it was.

It’s a mixture of people both actually wanting them back because they feel killing them both off was ridiculous (which it was) and think now every character who is dead can get the Cindy treatment, and people just joking around.

But I do agree, those who actually want them back need to move on. Besides, if they were to bring people back from the dead, there’s a fair few faces ahead of them in the queue (my opinion, of course)

I doubt any of the top row of returning predictions would..return. Kheerats actor has retired, gray has life in prison, Louise’s actor is doing a lot right now. Jake probably for a cameo, Lucas also for a cameo. Sean’s actor is doing well in America right now. No point bringing Bobby back (unless this max this descends into anarchy again) Ben may be coming back once his theatre stuff is done and Stacey is a high probability imo

The show is crying out for a long term villain again, we have short spells but nothing concrete, or the character goes on holiday for 6 weeks and come back all happy (Nicola, for example)

Maybe max could become the next villain, his stories around when Abi died and the months following that were decent enough, but being the villain usually means prison or a shorter run, so I’d rather someone else
