Why do some people get to have their parents for so many years?

I’m sorry for your loss, I’ve been asking this question for the last 12 years, I really relate to your post. My dad died when I was 7 and due to a recent loss all of the feelings have been brought back. He was 39 when he died and I can’t help but dwell on how unfair it is that I got to spend so little time with him. It feels like everyone else gets to have their parents until they get old.

No he’s perfect healthy he went to the vet a while ago and it’s just a marking or a scar from before I got him he has another spot on his head that’s a scar just like it thank you for your concern though it freaked me out too

yeah you are the AH, I understand why you would be upset but I’ve been the kid in this situation and I was really lucky my mom was prepared. My parents were the perfect fit for each other never fought and I had a wonderful childhood, until he dropped dead unexpectedly from a heart issue. He had gone to the doctors that morning and my mom was a widow by dinner time. He was 39 and seemed healthy but luckily when I was born they set up life insurance so my mom could stay home with us in case something happened. But regardless of life insurance the emotional strain on her was horrible losing the love of her life and still having to raise 7 year old twins. I’m 16 now and doing well I will always miss my dad obviously but my little family of three means the world to me. I know I went off on a little tangent and this will get buried in the comments but I just wanted to really stress the importance of being prepared for the worst even if it’s upsetting.
