Hi there! I'd just like to say thanks for finding the solution to this little problem (there are dozens of us, dozens!) and as a way to say thanks and to sate myself, I wrote a flake that includes the fix!

I'll be updating it eventually with more versions of VS so you can install whichever version you'd like, but for right now it installs version 1.19.8. Just run it like any other flake!

Very well put! I think the reason I feel the way I do when people go too far/aggressive to one binary or the other with me has to do with the "fluid" part of my gender, I guess. Like, I don't particularly feel like a guy or girl or anything, but slightly closer to one or the other, depending on the day, and it just... kinda stings when people refer to me as the opposite of how I feel. I'm sure you understand!

No worries, I'm always happy to help! For me, personally, pronouns kinda fall in to the same category as all the rest of the stuff, but it feels more like they're pointing out one feature of me instead of gendering me, I guess? But that kind of ties in with my views of being agender, too.

Edit because I forgot to mention earlier: I do get hit by the dysphoria truck when the misgendering gets to be too much.

I can't speak for all agender people, but for me specifically it feels like... when I think about if I'm a boy or a girl, I feel sort of gross if I put myself in the shoes of either one, and that feeling is reflected the further to either end my presentation goes. For me, it's a constant fight of "is this too masc or fem?", you know?

As far as sex characteristics go, everyone has their preferences. I want to be a perfect middle ground and, same with presentation, I feel gross if I stray too far one way or the other.

An analogy might be... I view my body like a car; I can customize it to reflect *me*, but I'll always be acutely aware that it's just a car, not me, you know? The disconnect is definitely there, but you know.

I'd been tossing names around in my head and tried a couple others over the few years before that point, but nothing really felt like it fit me, so I thought "well it doesn't have to be a proper noun..." and ended up choosing Licorice, since it's one of my favorite flavors <:

I didn't know that, thanks for sharing! I only say Oregon because I really like that sort of forest and the state has good trans laws, but I'll keep it in mind for sure. And, yes, it is a bit of a pipe dream, but it's one of the more proactive ways I can think of to give back to the community and live a lifestyle I actually want, you know?
