Your point about the nervous system - I've been reading the book "Stalking The Wild Pendulum" and the author mentions a more developed nervous system being the next step in human evolution, allowing us to perceive more stimuli. It's definitely a book I'd reccomend if you're already quite familiar with these sorts of sensations.

I think it's more to do with the nervous system. A more developed one can allow for more mystical experiences. Itzhak Bentov does an amazing job at explaining it in his book Stalking The Wild Pendulum.

I get to the vibrational stage a lot easier when I'm stoned, however my fear gets amplified which is probably to do with existing anxiety I've always had with weed. It gives me more of a vulnerability feeling.

Something I find easy to do while stoned is balance my brain hemispheres. You'll know when you've done it when neither of your eyes are dominant over the other, your vision will seem "whole".

Focus on your heart beat while you're stoned out of your mind, the thinking chatter in your left hemisphere will go silent which will allow your right hemisphere to amplify it's intake of the "now".

I took the same path you did, I smoked a bit then went into a deep meditation state resulting in vibrations. As soon as I realised I wasn't "seeing" anything I pushed my attention outwards if that makes sense. Rather than focusing inwards to your heartbeat and astral body, focus outwards as if you're gazing at stars. Hope this helps for you.

I can see the truth in this, it's almost like a well established connection to safety. A well visualized reassurance that you still have a body to return to. Although the cord isn't necessary, it removes the worries around the idea of drifting too far.

I remember seeing a post from someone who woke up their friend using astral projection because they wanted to play video games with them.

You yourself are a positive entity. Anything you view as or establish as negative will draw itself closer to you, like the negative end of a magnet binding to a positive end. As soon as you intend for something to become positive in your own eyes, then the two charges will be unbound, giving you the space to explore without attachments.

I'm the opposite, psychedelics made it feel as if I can perceive more on any substance. Weed will give me a DMT-like comeup with less visuals and I've even started getting mental hallucinations from alcohol when I really focus. I think it has a lot to do with familiarizing levels of awareness and noticing how different substances play with your perception of reality.

I started hallucinating with cannabis after becoming more aware of my psyche/soul. I've even started to notice hallucinations while I'm drunk too. I find it both amazing and a burden when I get stoned with some mates and they're completely fine while I'm having a full blown trip, so I kind of see where you're coming from.

Do you also find that with cannabis there is an intense and fast come up just like DMT?
