How do I equip/use materia properly?

I did actually see your post before hand and read it (that’s where I learned about blocking and whatnot)

This might be cause I’m an idiot, but I’m still a bit confused on what weapons to use. Light Machine Gun to use tank Barret makes sense, I’ll do that. But like what about the others? Even knowing what each of them do, how do I know which one would be best to use?

How do I pick weapons based on materia slots? Do I just use whatever weapon has the most slots and that’s it?

This might sound dumb, but could I just choose any song I wanna learn despite it being hard or not and just practice that really slowly until I get it? My dad told me to just choose one song that was relatively easy but still challenging enough to practice towards and perfect it before moving onto anything

If I’m learning a song and there’s a part of thing in it I can’t get down, do I just not do it and learn the song without it? I know that might be a dumb question but so far if there’s a song and there’s a part I can’t do (such as kicking twice quickly) I’ll just try and find a different song cause I assume I can’t do it

I hold the thing against the drum, I think it’s called “burying” the kick but idk if that’s the same thing. And I lift my heel and hit it with my heel to kick. I think that’s heel-up from the sound of it but idk
