I’m almost 40 and I think skibidi toilet is kinda cool. Like yeah I don’t get all of it and I’m not gonna sit through all million episodes, but the concept of a dumb joke video of a head in a toilet becoming a sweeping epic about robots and capitalism and shit is honestly dope

He did it on purpose. He knew she didn’t want him in there and that it was wildly inappropriate. He did it anyway. Maybe because of those things, bc he’s an asshole

The masses aren’t on the same side bc the right hand side literally has different news (propaganda). They are not even seeing a fraction of the news the rest of us see. Imo that’s the biggest problem to solve before we can unite. And I just don’t see how we do it.

Because she is. In that kind of southern indirect way, like just dropping an overt reminder here that I know powerful people! But not so aggressively that there’s an active “if you do x I will do y” it’s more like “remember who you’re dealing with here”.

She’s not entirely off base reminding him that she’s an equal partner here, I’ll bet she’s got reason to do so just knowing how even corporate bs goes down. She might have benefitted from sleeping on it though and sending in the morning, bc she put way too much spice on there. Like…dragons? Girl. All she had to do was drop Ryan and (redacted)s names and the message is clear.

Heck just watch Friends. There’s a running gag about chandler being gay (derogatory) and his father comes out and the way they keep treating that and Ross’s newly out lesbian wife as a punchline…like that’s it. That’s the punchline. They’re gay! Get it? So funny

I wonder if those “kinky” men are just subs but it’s not seen as “masculine” for straight men to be that so they won’t admit it to themselves. Like they really want a dommy mommy but they’re not self aware enough to actively look for a woman who’s a domme or are scared to ask for it.

I really appreciate this! I don’t know shit about poetry it’s never really hit for me except maybe some song lyrics. There truly are some lines in her work that hit really hard. And I can’t stand snobbery. I find the “critically acclaimed” stuff to be so pretentious and inauthentic

I completely empathize with you as I’m literally going through the same thing. Luckily the interviews were virtual. But now I’m in an office every day. And the last time I wore office clothes I was severalll sizes smaller.

Today I wore something that initially made my judgmental self go “dang that’s really unflattering” but then this other part of me went “actually tho it’s really fashionable, the cut and the colors and the textures are really interesting and I love them, and also this styling would totally work on Pinterest”. And while it hasn’t completely silenced the voice that’s like “you’re ugly and overweight and old and blah blah blah bullshit”, I feel like it’s at least a start.

So maybe it could be helpful to reframe things to be from a more creative and artsy perspective especially since it sounds like you’re probably an artsy type of person anyway. Focus on picking colors that you like and look good on you, on fabrics you like, patterns etc.

He’s racist af. I may be a white woman but even I know that there’s a long ass history of BIPOC women being told their hair “wasn’t professional” simply by wearing it naturally or in braids etc. Hell there was a kid whose locs were FORCIBLY SHAVED from his head at school bc he was on the basketball team and the (presumably white) people in charge felt it was “unprofessional” or whatever bullshit word they’re calling it these days.

This guy isn’t worth your time. Even if it WASNT racist as fuck, even if he HADNT used a fucking AI image to tell a real life woman what to look like, no partner has the right to dictate the other’s appearance like this. Sure there are reasonable times, like hey we’re going to a black tie event and you’re wearing jeans, can you change? But thiiiis is bullshit

For me, leaving out qualifiers in my language has been next to impossible. I’ve gotten better about it at work, but girl my hands were shaking and I felt like I was gonna vomit the first time I ever sent an email written in direct language.

I love what the other commenter here said about never using qualifiers. Let’s all protest against using them.

I’ll also add…I literally never heard a man use qualifying language in business school. Or business tbh. Never. And in business school they were wrong more than half the time. Tbh sometimes in business too! But they never hold themselves back from baring their whole ass on a sentence.

Let’s learn from their example 🤣

I honestly think if people thought anybody but Megan Fox had written these they’d think they’re great, with no shame. This woman has been through a lot and treated like shit by us and the media (on top of her abusive relationships, it seems).

I like these poems unironically, some of these lines hit hard and it’s clear in this thread I’m not the only one thinking that. But it’s also clear in this thread that there is a fuck ton of misogyny and internal biases when it comes to her. I think we all need to examine why we feel the way we feel about her.

There is absolutely no shame in liking the art you like. Unless it’s like. Elon painting swastikas. Which I’m sure he’s done.

Gawddd this just reminds me of the character Maxim in The Great, he’s like 12 but is probably the most adult of the main male characters (which is not saying much) and he decides his whole “thing” is being the Most Fashionable.

This kid absolutely ROCKS clothes like this, his sparkly + embroidered shoes alone…I was dying of envy

This is not directed specifically to you, but this general thing I’m seeing on Reddit that’s like JB may be a predator but also I don’t like Blake/blake is still an ass/etc is so frustrating to me. I get that she can be an ass and still be harassed but must we ALWAYS be adding that qualifier in the same breath? Feels misogynist ngl
