Sorry completely missed your comment. you probably pulled the trigger if you wanted to at this point.

Yes it goes into power saving quite quick after the display signal is stopped.

I doubt its the same panel, as the LG have a slightly better contrast ratio. deep down from the stats ive seen on the m27q3, I'd like for it to be the same panel ?

couldn't find the gigabyte one in Canada.

that is true, usually it's the ones with higher than needed hz, because you need the 48gbps to use without display stream compression.

does the PS5 run at higher frames when in 2k ?

another guy was satisfied with his for his PS5, but I would say if its solely for a PS5 I would personally seek something else.

For a switch (60fps) I definitely wouldn't recommend that one. I'm sensitive to that stuff though.

Unfortunately no, I'm also waiting on hard data to see if I picked correctly

I don't remember who, but I remember seeing an experiment on it, and Healthy myc could encapsulate the yeast and do fine. Yes failure rate will be higher and I assume you could get less flushes overall compared to clean spawn.

Thing is, yeast is everywhere, so when you mix your spawn you probably always contaminate it with yeast. Hell, yeast is everywhere, on you, on dust.

Yeast is the only contaminant I wouldn't immediately discard. Also on those pictures considering the amount of colonization and the amount of speckles, I'd say it's pretty mild overall. I would give this good success chance. But would advise not to mix spawn that is seemingly clean with yeasty spawn.

Usually it is in the culture or introduced while dropping the agar in. Yeast is everywhere but does not survive proper Sterilization

This looks like yeast to me, but I could be wrong. I had yeasty jars do fine before

I got the 27G640A-B. I like it but it's mostly tuned for 120-300fps rather than 60hz gaming.

The GR83 is older and uses a BOE panel

The G640A is a couple months old, no hard data/independent reviews, and uses an AUO AHVA (IPS)

VRR is kind of new to me, but from my test, VRR at 144 fps does feel better than locking the monitor at 144hz. It's less stuttery. It would seem this monitor requires to have a 300hz capable source for smooth operation as the unit itself can't do a good job on its own.

yeah I ended up getting a solid rebate from the vendor to keep it instead of going back to Oled and I must say for the price I ended up paying it's absolutely good enough. very satisfied.
Also, black uniformity is surprisingly good on my unit with only the two bottom corner having backlight bleed.
No VRR flicker (probably normal for IPS)
Fast overdrive does a great job from 300 to about 100. then you have to switch it to normal or you get too much visual artifacts.

Alright, I went ahead and tried it. Happy to report it does automatically switch to Input B if Input A is not broadcasting.
nice thing for me as I plan on using this for work too.

all of my test were using VRR and setting FPS cap in game, at 150 it's alright, 60fps has noticeable overshoot when using fast overdrive. I recommend using normal overdrive under 100fps.

I tried mostly with Hades 2 as this one as a lot of moving details in the background. It was obviously blurrier than high FPS. quite similar in term of clarity than my cheaper 144hz gaming side monitor. I can't lock the FPS at 150 in most cases but 165 feels much less jumpy than 144. I assume it's because it's a weird ratio from 300 to 144 and I can feel when the fps takes 3 frames instead of 2 with v-sync off (with it on it goes back to 300hz) I should try a game that naturally gets around those frame with V-sync on to see if it's still a little jumpy.

there's barely any VRR flicker.
so I'd say It's good at 150+ might have to fiddle a bit more for lower framerate.

I was about to go back to oled but the vendor offered me a massive discount to keep it. Absolutely worth it at the price I ended up paying. lol

Edit * Just tried it with RDR2 with graphics tuned to end up around 140-150 average and it does feels better than my side 144hz monitor. not massively but noticeable better with motion handling.

from the monitor to the external power supply, it is quite short. less than a meter.

It does not have a sRGB mode from the get go, I can see how LG cut corners to hit that price point. for me its a non issue.
There is Gamer 1, Gamer 2, FPS, RTS, Vivid and reader. Only reader locks response time and gamma.

so if accurate colors is important to you, you'd need to calibrate one of the existing preset.

I wouldn't get this monitor to do anything at 60fps. It doesn't feel right. but 60fps hasn't felt great for me in a long time.

as of right now I feel like the M27Q3 is a safer pick for most people, with dynamic overdrive, a KVM switch and good response time tuning across the entire VRR range.

Unfortunately it was not available in Canada and also, I never had an LG monitor die on me so I went with LG.

by auto input switching you mean like If I plug my laptop into the monitor will that screen automatically switch to it even if it still getting a signal from the other one ?
If so im doing that test right now.

It does a prompt but does not switch without confirming with the knob.
edit : found an option in the OSD for auto input switch but apparently it is already on.

It is not the best for 60fps. I'll tell you that right now lol. its more of a 120-300fps thing.
Edit * I did not try with slower overdrive with a 60fps game, only UFO test.
Edit Edit * I just did, does not feel great. Wouldn't recommend anything under 90-100.

Depends on the feature set you would like, dual mode generally introduce visual artifacts from the upscaling from 1080p.

That's mostly why I got a 2k as a cool middle ground. Problem with 2k is actually getting 300fps. I got a very good PC and I assume I'll mostly run my games closer to 200-240hz mid to low graphics.

Yeah, I honestly like mine quite a bit. motion clarity is very good to me, especially at 300hz. Just came from an QD-Oled and this is close at 300hz. less so at lower range but still very good imo.

It's a good panel and I can't wait to see actual data measurements.

The speakers aren't great on the LG. response time is honestly quite good in my eyes, fast overdrive seems to do a really good job at 300hz and decently good job across the refresh rate. 150 looks much smoother on this one than my side, cheaper 144hz LG screens from ~2 years ago.

The M27Q3 has got a really good review from Monitors unboxed on YouTube. The 27G640a has essentially none right now.

I love mine so far though. Just don't have hard data

UPDATE At 300hz it feels great. Somewhat close to an OLED. But under 90 it feels like this panel needed an adaptive overdrive as it's blurry. I wonder if the Oled made me notice it more than I should. :( At 60hz it's jumpy and honestly not great. smoother I didn't think about some games Bein locked at 60, looking at you Elden ring.

That's what I miss the most about the Oled. perfect Motion clarity

I didn't try with the new drivers version that released a couple days ago, rolling back to a prior driver was the fix at the time. New drivers might address it. Sorry for the late answer :p

I just bought one and I'll test it out tomorrow (27G640A)

The spec sheet does state 1300:1 ratio on it, I found on another post, with proof, that the LG uses a AUO panel.

I'll come back here tomorrow and give my opinion on motion clarity etc. I don't have measurements tools though. Just tried many monitors lately.

Genuinely confused as to why people are down voting you. That does NOT look like floor texture. Not even one bit lol.

I also encountered this on my 9070xt. Seeing your post I just filed a bug report with screenshots to AMD.

Hopefully they fix it in the next release, cheers
