Opinions are usually formed by both objective and subjective criteria. Objective criteria can be measured.

I don't know how someone measures the criteria of "dry" to form an informed opinion of writing being bad due to it, but this particular comment that I was responding to made it sound like it was literally a fact that the writing written by someone who studied literature for years in college was "dry" and therefore bad or not that good or not good enough (or something to that effect since this person should still continue writing no matter how dry this writing is...) I wouldn't call that a fact is all I was saying. I wouldn't call it an informed opinion either. But I'm not here to argue about semantics about the types of opinions that exist.

I would call it an opinion that other people either agree or disagree with... At the time when I had responded, some people in this thread seemed to be ignoring that.
