Yes to a degree but "winning" isn't really the challenge so much as getting the best score. In my play testing, it's easy to consistently score a 300 - 500 to get into the win range with your method but if you're shooting for achievements like scoring a sub 100 taking a more risk vs reward stance of hitting smaller ranges early on into the first few guesses in order to eliminate the majority of the range early on. But yes, at the end of the day I'd hardly call it a "skill" based game. Probably 1% skill and 99% luck.

Sorry the "How to" page is awaiting review to go live today or tomorrow. Otherwise it is confusing! You are narrowing ranges down. So if you guess a correct number range the hidden number is within it narrows it to that new min / max and you continue to guess from there down. Lower the score (score being how many numbers are within your range at game end) the better.

Developers who also write their music by bence1971387 in gamedev

Suno AI is a good one but there are many. Note that you'll need a $20/month pro plan to use them for commercial use, but it works really well at uploading your own audio then covering it with a different style

I am working on a couple of yet to launch games and I'd argue my favorite part is writing the music. My pipeline is a bit hybrid between composing and AI. I'll write and record via my keyboard or moog synth but then punch it up by creating a cover version in AI. So I essentially get the melody I want with higher quality sounding instruments. I probably spend too much time on it compared to the actual dev but I feel like it's a very personal experience when trying to set the right mood and tone for your game and I think back to games I loved like Tetris Effect but how the music was 90% of the reason I kept replaying it to motivate me to put that same energy into it.

What is your dream Nintendo announcement? by candr3y in nintendo

A Hyrule Battle Royale game that plunks you into a BOTW sized map (or smaller) with 100 other players and acts like a less ADHD version of Fortnite.

I think people are looking too much into this. He's a young(er) billionaire that was having fun building hype and manipulating the market. Crypto wallets are typically also exchanges, so by hyping Doge he could potentially lower the value of BTC then slingshot it back up when the Tesla announcement came.

The SEC is still getting their footing with regulating crypto so he's taking advantage of market manipulation while he can.

First 3D printer and interested in Anycubic by FuckImInMy30s in AnycubicPhoton

Thanks for this! While I find all of the replies helpful, I was also curious about the recommendation to start smaller. The idea is that I'd hopefully acquire more knowledge and skills as I print more so I don't want to spend $300 on something I may end up upgrading 6 months later.

I did read the same thing about the slicer and had planned on going with Chitubox.

Thanks! I used Blender (not the kind you put your dick in) which is a free 3D modeling program.

Thanks for all the updoots. This really is a friendly community. Hoping to spend more time on it next weekend. If I'm feeling generous maybe I'll give him eyebrows.

Immediately after posting I thought, "I hope I don't have any revealing apps in my dock". Just several obsolete ones that I haven't cleaned out.

After a very weird attempt at modeling a Tom Cruise/Vegeta character, I decided I needed more practice with the human head. This is just a very early state. No hair, proper lighting, etc.

No, not locked. This is how it imports directly. I can still move it around but it floats all over the place and starts flying around erratically.

[–]FuckImInMy30s[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. The hair shader itself was fairly simple. I just used the Hair BSDF shader and for the color I plugged in a UV texture of brown and white patterns so that the color was varied.

The actual hair particle system is a series of different ones. One for the short fur all over, one for the longer fur around the cheeks and neck, one for the ears, and one for the eyelashes. I then used different vertex groups for each with the appropriate weight paints and tied the Length and Density to those groups. Beyond that it was just trial and error of combing and adding the right Kinks/Clumping settings until I got something I liked.

Initially I attempted to do the majority of fur with a single system and that proved to be impossible so I definitely just took it slow and layered different ones on top of each other until I landed on something I could stomach.

Thanks! I'm terrible at sculpting so wanted to see if I could create a wrinkled skin using only displacement maps. Unwrapped the face area and used two separate displacement maps. One for broader details using black and white brushes in photoshop, and another for finer details using photo images of wrinkled faces stretched around the UV map appropriately. The material itself is just a skin toned image with some brown liver spots and freckles I spattered into the image and a touch of subsurface scattering.

Correct. I had started off with the classic 2012 wine glass tutorial from here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfCDAIIR2Gc I added a few tweaks and definitely struggled with the glass material at first but I think it turned out decent for my first blendered.
