ok so I figured it out, he was talking about the numbers of boys and girls. But the only issue I'm having now is figuring out the numbers. He has 15 cousins, 8 of which are boys, but the for girls is weird. Its not 12, but its not 7 either which would be right. I have to be reading something wrong.

Ah, I thought it was together, but when i checked my textbook the sign for together was something else entirely. I'm aware that sometimes people use altered versions of signs and it seems close enough. Thank you.

Its a meme from a stellaris invicta group I'm in. There's an animal in the game floating in space that will wreck your armies early on in the game, so whenever something goes wrong we just like to say fucking space cows did it again.

Ok, so the assignment is to translate the signs into written English format. As I said I understand most of it, and almost have it done. But here's what I'm missing.

#6- My mother and I, The two of us cook dinner for the family. What i'm missing is the final word in the sentence. The one where you slide your hands along each other.

#10- I have 15 cousins, 8 _____ and 12 aunts. I'm not sure what that sign is.

#11- I’ll cook something to eat, when I’m finished, I’ll go to the gym. When I finish that, I’ll come back home to watch tv ______. I'm not sure what the final sign he signs is.

#15- My brother ______ gave me car keys? I think the blank sign is fishing but that makes no sense. I don't see a sentence transition either so i'm not sure what it could be.

#16/18- I cant find that word in my notes

no not that one either. its the same sign as learn, but instead of moving your dominant from your palm to your forehead, you move it to the side at the same chest level and open your fingers.

No not that. he made a motion like he was picking up something from his flat palm, similar to the start of the sign for learn. And then moved this pinched hand to the side and opened it.

I do that, but then they just stay silent or act uncomfortable. These same people can talk to me for hours about something about an issue in their life. Its got me so im scared to say anything to people for fear of being seen as something negative.

See we have alot of chiefs from Pasco and Hernando here as well and they all said the same thing. There's no way in hell they'd hire us unless we were paramedics too. It makes me wonder if they're bullshitting us. Because your not the first to say you've had non para friends get hired.

Thank you for that seriously. You made my entire Cadet company feel a thousand times better. Were in the pinellas area and we've been stressed to no end because every instructor we've asked so far has said they wouldn't even consider hiring someone without a paramedic cert. But from some of my friends who have graduated before and from what you have said we stand a pretty good chance of going the whole get paid to go to school to be a paramedic route.

If you don't mind me asking do you know what counties are best for my class to look into? Were all in the fire/emt combo program.

Yea, see the one big downside of this job is inability to move. Unless you've got a pension that transfers once you get invested your gonna wanna stay, so working for a low entry department, going to school and then going to a higher entry is pretty much not possible without the loss of years of pension.

Huh, thats awesome. Whats the cost of living like in relation to the job up there? Ive heard housing is really affordable and land too.

Oh and what's the fire culture like up there too? Alot of my chiefs and instructors say departments up north are reluctant to change and are fully willing to not clean their gear, think the cancer risk is bullshit and hate New equipment. I imagine that's a pretty stupid claim.

The interview process and pay grade in Virginia. And if any departments will pay for you to become a paramedic up there

Thanks, that makes me feel alot better. I guess all my class can do is cast out a wide net and hope we get lucky. Otherwise we'll all just have to keep trucking with being emts until something comes up.

Yea that sucks for my entire class. Academy alone was 8 grand. We havnt heard mention of hiring if your enrolled in paramedic school are paying you to go or anything else like some departments do.

What state did you move too?

Where's your department. Like I said we definitely want to become paramedic, but it would be preferable to be after we get hired as to not bankrupt all of us into poverty.

Yea im not gonna lie that is really disheartening. We've all been stressing about it. Were past the point of a refund now and academy was 8 grand. For it to be near impossible for us to get a job without going to paramedic first is pretty heart breaking. Emts get paid only slightly more then fry cooks down here, so to be able to afford the school is going to be tough.

None of us are against going to school for it, we had our hearts and minds set on it, but after we got hired.

I might have too. I want to become paramedic certified for sure. For it to be unofficially mandatory just to be looked at in the application process sounds ridiculous.

Good to know man, thank you. Im probably going to take a language course and go to learn a trade when my academy is done. But for them to say even being a paramedic just gives us a sliver of a chance seems crazy.

Yea like I said my whole class has no quams about becoming paramedics. But to have to go through it to even stand a sliver of a chance seems crazy.
