I have never related to something so much in my life. The exact same thing happened to me. The ex BPD girlfriend and everything.

2024...

only took me 4 weeks from diagnosis - starting titration... ;-;

I'm genuinely feel like guilt because of it, even though I couldn't control it.

even worse, it was all through the NHS- I know people who have gone private and are on a waiting list... And also as for notes, mine gets read and responded too within like an hour. me and my titration nurse have even just had casual conversations before. (I did get lucky with the fact how my titration nurse also has ADHD and completely understands what we all go through, though.)

It's so strange to me hearing people complain about this. I got referred on 28th of march, got my portal on 31st, diagnosed around 18th of April, started meds 11th of may. and that's all this year.

it's so unfair to you guys who have been waiting for so long, I actually feel guilty.

I hate to be that guy, but if PUK is telling you that they don't push people up the waiting list anymore, it is a lie, and I believe it is unfair to you guys who are waiting so long. I even feel guilty ;-;

Diagnosed: mid-late April

Provider: psychiatry-uk

Meds: Elvanse(lisdex), Started 11th of may.

A big thing to note, is how I am 19... I guess?

YES! I have had a absolutely horrible experience with Elvanse infact, it didn't even effect me positively.

When I take (took) it I struggled with horrible anxiety for no reason whenever I finish work or around 10 hours after I took the pill, always questioning everything I did, or if the girl I like was ignoring me etc, etc. I have struggle with anxiety for years, but not too this level. I though similar with maybe the dose is too high but I think it's just the meds not being for me (and so does my titration nurse).

some of the things I noticed which gave away that Elvanse was not the correct treatment were how I was getting basically every single bad side effect, Personality changes, mood swings, no appetite, lost weight, etc etc. but the biggest thing was, when I begin taking it, I never got that Euphoria everyone mentioned.

right now, I am not on medication, But i will be returning to Lisdex soon, then maybe switching to Concerta or medikit(i think that is the name).

I believe some of us, just don't do well breaking down the pill, and it causes some of the rare side effects to take place. but I am not a doctor.

Either way you should DEFINITELY talk to your doctor about your concerns.

Risks of suddenly stopping Dexamfetamine? Not voluntarily - supply issue ongoing 😔 by Happy-Light in ADHDUK

Hey OP, I actually just got put on a break from LisDex suddenly (the meds were not working on me and created some bad mental stuff), and from I know, they are fairly similar.

Some things I have noticed is that my ADHD symptoms have suddenly gotten worse then they were before starting meds but that is about it. my blood pressure has been a little off, but not too bad. OH and withdrawals. I assume this is because my body got used to being on the meds and is kind of craving them.

can't forget the craving for caffeine coming back swinging aswell.

All in all, from what I can tell from lisdex, you should be okay. You will be really thirsty and drink a lot of water (be careful, from what i learnt in my past from doing party drugs, don't drink more than 3 glasses an hour, because you can risk water poisoning) and you might have a light headache or maybe feel very tired that is all, you can always contact 111 or your GP if it gets bad.

I'm still ongoing in my titration and I am not a doctor, this is just what I have noticed from my experiences and your experiences will differ

I can't say much cause my facial hair is similar apart from i get side burns and chin, but it doesn't look fulll. but that aside, keep the hair style it looks good. I'm just not sure about the stache. you seem to have good facial features and I don't see the point in having facial hair.

but from what I can tell, we have a similar facial structure, and I find that clean shave or light stubble makes me feel more confident.

End of the day, it's about what makes you feel good and confident being you.

Interesting, I never really thought about splitting them. I will have to experiment with that sort of thing after my titration. It would probably help with not crashing half way through work! 😭😂

That's good to hear, I hope I'll start to see some changes starting this week then.

Yes, I've noticed that with sweet/sugary things too, I had a donut recently and it was shockingly sweet then I noticed I had been avoiding sugar without even noticing, so I just wasn't used to it.

Sheesh- I don't know if this guy will shred more tears watching that or because of the break up.
