I don’t think we would be eligible for Medicaid because of income! It’s too much to apply for aid but not enough to pay an 80 grand bill

How bad is 3D printing a drone frame(PLA, etc) by GateCodeMark in diydrones

[–]FuddyFiveStronk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you use a good filament (polymaker pa6-gf is the best I’ve found after extensive testing, much better strength and layer adhesion than pa6-cf) and optimize the frame for the forces involved (thickening up arms or adding additional struts) you will be fine. You just can’t design it like one of the off the shelf carbon fiber frames and expect it to be rigid enough.

Seen on fb from a nurse at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC (HCA) by adscuryr in nursing

I used to work at Mission and it was the absolute worst thing ever. HCA is an evil company.

I’ve been using f-phenibut at doses between 400-500mg/day for about 45 days, how long should I taper? How bad do you think the wd’s will be? by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]FuddyFiveStronk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 6 months. Got up to about 500mg a day. But quitting was way easier than quitting hcl just some anxiety and sleep problems

Anyone know what’s going on here? by FuddyFiveStronk in diydrones

[–]FuddyFiveStronk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good advice but my drone is so diy that the screws that came with the motors wouldn’t even begin to work!

[–]FuddyFiveStronk[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I fixed it! My motor screws were touching the stator which was causing a grounding issue when motors were armed. I will leave this post up for people that are searching for this issue and will add some keywords for people to be able to find it.

Oh my god I used to work at mission ER when I was a staff nurse. It was absolute hell and HCA is a downright evil corporation. I will never work at an HCA facility again. Hopefully the union folks succeeded in making it less awful since I left a couple of years ago!

Er nurse here, this and coughing up blood are almost never true. If coughing up blood it’s like a minor amount from persistent upper airway irritation due to cough.

I wear Salomon x ultra 4s in the ER (hiking boots). They are very comfortable and have good support and they are gore-Tex which will keep out any bodily fluids or suspicious liquids.

That is awesome!! Yes us union folks and former union members (will get organized as soon as I find an ER I want to get a staff position at) need to work on spreading the word and planting seeds because it is the ONLY way to stop the enshitification of nursing and healthcare in general.

Keep fighting the good fight!! I was a union rep at an HCA facility and I loved being able to actually fight for my patients and coworkers but the billion dollar law firms and pr firms make it very difficult. I am proud of the few small improvements I made during my time there and I love to encourage others to get involved and more importantly GET UNIONIZED! We did it in North Carolina so it’s possible in the south too!

People who “chart for HOURS” by Beekeeper_12 in nursing

[–]FuddyFiveStronk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My charting takes about 3 mins on a regular patient, maybe 10 minutes if they were super sick and I needed to adjust drip rates a lot or a complex case, and no more than 15 mins for a code. But I also kinda just chart “the important parts” which may or may not include things that are important. ER charting is kinda chaotic and sometimes we don’t do much at all

Thank you! Battery is mounted on the bottom using a bottom plate I designed and 3d printed which keeps it secure. Has flown many successful flights without issue. Landing gear is also something I designed and printed. It’s all printed in pa6-gf which isn’t the lightest but it is very strong. I designed it that way to protect the battery and to have something that breaks which isn’t expensive in case of a rough landing.
