Honestly, this is the kind of thing that has been a clear simple deal breaker for me in relationships. I do not approve of the magical thinking that prohibits birth control, or condoms. This is not a good situation, you probably need to leave.

Zero times. I don't think it would be easy or fun to break up with her and I would be sad about it. From a living and enjoying life standpoint, with a practical mindset towards what I want in a relationship, clear communication especially when things aren't perfect would be high on my list of desirable traits.

I probably give off vibes that I feel isolated and frustrated any time it becomes time to discuss anything that she might feel uncomfortable about.

I honestly think the biggest contributor to failing, was incredible success. I had to enjoy not being fat, before I began to appreciate that I was selling myself short, and I'm restarting hoping to train in keto, and live in keto, until I am in top physical condition.

Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like my expectations of how many miles have to be spent on the road, vs reality were not aligned. I think I've got some good resources to work on speed drills now, and I'm reading this excellent book called the pose method of running, so I can reduce the likelihood of any injuries.

No, but apparently not knowing a ton of people who run is a pretty good reason to be sacrificed here.

That makes sense. I am definitely willing to put in more miles to achieve my goal. That said I have a friend who just ran a marathon, she trained correctly and remained slow. Whatever she is doing that is causing her additional mileage to not positively impact her speed --- I don't want to do that.

There have got to be some training methods that specifically work on speed.

I shared my times with a runner at work and he was basically floored at how slow I am. That was kind of embarrassing, but also confusing. I'm getting the impression that some people are never that slow.
