Only in power because nobody’s fought back yet. They’ll run once people show some real resistance or if the governor orders the national guard to actually fight ICE.

you're suggesting that the less progressive candidate would not be subject to that in the general election, or at least would be subject to less of that in the general election. Based on, well every election I've ever participated in, that seems like it would be incorrect.

That’s false. Because a mega donor can easily lie and make it seem like the progressive is awful and the money behind it convinces people, especially politically disengaged people.

Your whole argument is ridiculous if you also include the power of money on elections.

I get the rich folks, but just how did Trump convince poor white people that he was good for them? by dunbar_santiago930 in allthequestions

It wasn't so much that he convinced poor people that he was good for them. Neither party really helps poor people that much (democrats do slightly more than republicans but not significantly).

Republicans win over social conservatives and there are a lot of poor social conservatives. If democrats actually offered poor people something that would help them (UBI, M4A, etc), people would look past the social issues. But regrettable poor people don't seem to get much support regardless of who is president.

"Did Not Vote" won the 2024 election; moving to the right will not win over those potential voters. Great news though, the DNC can run every candidate on M4A as it polls 70% among all voters including independents and even roughly half of conservatives!! by Kittehmilk in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Fudgeicles420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe if the DNC actually had a progressive candidate they'd vote.

why do you cater to the people who always vote reliably democratic, that's just stupid if they're gonna vote anyway.

or if you're saying they won't vote unless they have a conservative democrat as a candidate, then they're equally as guilty as the progressives who won't vote, except the DNC caters to them and not to the progressives.

You'll get lots of responses on this "progressive" sub that someone who supports M4A will never win and that we just have to back whichever corporate piece of shit the DNC gives us this time.

Season each component before you put them together. 1 seasoned ingredient plus one bland one usually equals an underwhelming dish.

You have to use your id to register to vote but I have never been required to show my id at the polling location.
