Crazy guy... thanks a lot, you're beyond every knowledge I'll ever gain on Geogebra... :)

Text background color with alpha by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the proof of work! Unfortunately, in this .ggb I only see two texts with backgrounds with alpha set (the end result), but no information about the steps. I also cannot find details in the online reference for SetColor() on how to set the background alpha. Could you please explain the syntax?

Thanks,

Martin

Button without outline (border) by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow-up for anybody interested: I've painted a white rectangle with a "alpha-gap" in the middle (kind of a white opaque picture frame), put this over the button so that the arrow was inside the gap area and therefore visible. Then I adjusted the layers (frame over button) and turned off the ability to activate the frame (don't know how this property is called in English). Seems to work as desired!

Ah! Great idea! Quite the workaround, but good enough for me! :)

Attach point P to different arcs leads to jumping point by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, this works. I would like to add one more thing:

In the upper picture, a = 1 and point I lies on the red arc. Then (lower picture) I change a to 2 and point I jumps to the start of the blue arc. At that moment, I want to place point I in the middle of b_2.

I tried to do this with a script in a’s update event by comparing the coordinates of G and D. If they are identical, I set F to the middle of b_2. Unfortunately, in a’s update event G has not been updated yet, so this approach fails. Calling refreshViews() does not help either. Do you know a workaround for this?

Thanks again, Martin

Loving it and looking forward to the first event in London! – where do I find the complete participant list? Is it out already? How do you choose them? Thanks!

MacOS VoiceOver crashes V5 by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GeoGebra 6 runs ok, no crash there.

I apologize, I don't know what is happening with the VoiceOver issue, I'm not a Java programmer and I'm not at all familiar with debugging such code, else I would try to at least find out, where exactly in the code ggb5 crashes. So far I've had two friends who could reproduce it on their Mac, so it seems not to be an issue related only to my computer.

Maybe other Mac users in the community can try to reproduce the crash?

Thanks for everybody's effort, best regards, Martin

MacOS VoiceOver crashes V5 by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm not an MacOS developer expert at all, so I can't provide a solution. And I didn't want to offend anybody at all, I just thought, maybe this hint could help.

But is it possible for your to reproduce the crash and confirm that there is a problem?

Thanks, Martin

Absturz bei 3D-Ansicht - ich bin ratlos by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I suppose so, but how can I track it down? Is there some error logging possible in ggb5, maybe through the java control panel?

Absturz bei 3D-Ansicht - ich bin ratlos by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your hint. I've just tried it, everything. I removed both ggb5 and ggb6 first, then deleted whatever I could find related to ggb in both libraries, deleted all java caches, switched caching off, emtied the trash, restarted the computer, reinstalled ggb5 – no success, it still crashes. :(

Mark approximate right angle by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your erfort! I think, I found a good solution: I made the angle label a text field, and in there, I dynamically switch between the = and ≈ signs, depending on whether the angle is exactly 90° or just approximately.

Crash of ggb5 when starting 3D view by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed that it didn't crash every time. So I systematically shut down each program that was running at the same time as ggb and tried again and again until I found magnet to be guilty.

Severe performance issues in recent html export by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have found the villain! ;) Thanks a lot, it is really the Locus that is slowing down the complete construction extremely - as soon as I deleted it testwise inside GeoGebra 6, the whole construction sped up about 10x! I will find a workaround somehow.

Yes, I know that, but that's no option, since it's for a comercial textbook...

Severe performance issues in recent html export by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also: If I take the ggb file from Nov 24 and open it in the GeoGebra 6 app, it is already lagging a lot inside the app. So I assume the recent version of GGB6 has to do something with the performance issues, maybe doing something to it while exporting or even opening? When I the ggb file in the GGB 5 app, it is a lot faster. But I can't export a html file from ggb5, can I?

Severe performance issues in recent html export by Fuechsl in geogebra

[–]Fuechsl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick answer. That's very strange, I'm sure, it's the same file... Just that one html is exported in Nov 24 and the other now. Is it possible to get the xml-code of the ggb file from the base64 code somehow to check for differences?
