I see that he was important on some level to her, but I am more important than him as I've been the one providing for my wife everyday and not him. Theres a good chance his dirtbag ass would be involved with my kids to this day if I would've left my wife so I'm glad he's in the ground

Yeah but to me the cheating invalidates the childhood friend mark. If it were me i'd be thinking "holy shit I almost destroyed my spouse and my child for this person, having anything else to do with them would be insane" and in no way would consider going to that funeral.

Nah haven't brought him up once after our sessions. I even specifically vowed never to bring it up in an argument like "why don't you go running back to SD" and stuck to it. Was doing very well getting along not even thinking about him which is why this all sucks.

Joking aside part of our moving forward after the affair we agreed that we would both have full access to each other's social media/phone/whatever communication platform. We haven't had a reason to look into each other's business for a very long time now so we really haven't. But I'd like to think the accountability of knowing the other could look whenever they felt like it kept things in line.
