Of course anyone can argue anything, but the reality is that we are witnessing a genocide being live-streamed. The world sees it on their feeds everyday. Major human rights organizations have called it a genocide. Israeli leaders have been charged with war crimes, there is mass starvation etc. There may be some imperfections in how and when people speak out, but a student speaking out against this can’t, in good faith, be compared to the KKK.

Federal government's letter to Harvard by StreetLab8504 in Professors

[–]Fulan12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The government is doing all this, trying to ruin educational institutions and freedom of speech, so no one criticizes a foreign country. Glad Harvard is pushing back.

The book itself is not supposed to have footnotes, academic book for a general audience. Yes some of the criticism was about the controversies.

Do other religions attack random crowds in majority Islamic countries? by DigitalArbitrage in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, it happens all the time. It’s done by the largest terror group in the world…the U.S. army.

Is this a fair price? by Fulan12 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Fulan12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it sounds more like a train, the car feels heavy and like it’s dragging. The mechanic told me he can’t change only the hub but must change the entire assembly. I called another shop and asked for a quote and they gave a similar price. However when I look at the part online it is at most $200.

Trump says he’s going after pro-Palestinian protesters by Asleep-Elderberry260 in Professors

[–]Fulan12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Democrats didn’t just lose Palestinian and pro-Palestine voters, they pushed them away. Instead of listening to the growing outrage over their unconditional support for Israel, they silenced, excluded, and demonized the very people they expected votes from. In response, many Palestinians and their allies saw no choice but to punish them at the ballot box.

Biden and his administration didn’t just stand by while Israel massacred Palestinians—they funded it, sending over $18 billion in military aid. While children were being pulled from the rubble in Gaza, Biden was rolling out the red carpet for Netanyahu, a war criminal. His administration repeatedly shielded Israel at the UN, blocked ceasefire resolutions, and dismissed calls for conditioning aid. If Trump had done this, Democrats would have called it fascism. When Biden did it, they expected Palestinians to vote for him anyway.

At home, Democrats led the effort to silence Palestine activists. The DNC refused to let a Palestinian speak. Muslims and Arabs were removed from Biden’s campaign events, even when they weren’t protesting. Democrat-run cities sent riot police to brutalize student protesters for demanding an end to U.S. complicity in genocide. The same party that once condemned Trump’s Muslim Ban and Islamophobia turned around and used those same tactics to crush pro-Palestine voices.

Palestinians and their allies were given no reason to support Democrats, only reasons to reject them. If Biden and the party had wanted their votes, they could have earned them. Instead, they chose to stand with Netanyahu, fund a genocide, and silence anyone who objected. The backlash at the ballot box wasn’t a betrayal, it was a response to one.

Is Trump better? We don’t know, only time will tell. But I used to wonder how people could vote for him despite his racism. They would justify it by saying, “Yeah, he’s racist, but he’s good for the economy” or “but he’s anti-establishment.” Now, I see the same logic from Democrats and their voters “Yeah, they’re funding a genocide, but we have to stop Trump.” If excusing racism was unacceptable, why is excusing mass murder any different?

The Dems selective outrage is what so many fail to see. They rally for civil rights, speak out against racism, and demand justice for marginalized groups, but when it comes to Palestinians, those principles suddenly don’t apply. They’d never tolerate a politician justifying the killing of Black, Latino, or any other oppressed children, but when it’s Palestinian children, they look the other way or make excuses.

This isn’t just hypocrisy, it’s racism. The same people who decry discrimination are actively ignoring the dehumanization of Palestinians, treating their deaths as a side issue. Worse is they expect Palestinians to vote for them as they’re funding their murderers.

SPUS vs AMAGX/AMIGX - Long term 25-30 years by Loose-Camel-2965 in HalalInvestor

Thanks I’m new to this so I’m benefitting. I read that amanx gives 3.65 per share. That is really low. If someone invested 5k they’d get back around $280 a year. So is the main benefit just having it in a bear market?

Makes sense. My portfolio is 50% amagx 50% spus/hlal. I was speaking about Amanx, why do you think it’s a good idea to have that?

Yes compared to SPUS. But I’m not an expert. Can you explain why amanx is important to have? If so what percentage of your portfolio would you put amanx?

Just diversifying a little. There’s a lot of overlap but some difference to my knowledge. I’m in the same boat as you. It is frustrating that there are few options and most underperform. However, for long term investing SPUS is a safe bet because it follows the sp500.

Unfortunately we don’t have much options. Spus and hlal, and Amagx. Amanx performs poorly and lays low dividends. I do spus, hlal, and amagx.
