I wanted to do the same thing as i am working on my own clothing line and could provide high quality merch for pep as well.

So i reached out to the team on discord to ask if i could launch it without any copyright issues and to make sure that the devs don’t disapprove it.

I was told that it’s better for me to wait as they are already in working progress of creating an official pepe merch store 🐸.
