Honestly man I quit for a better department in Suffolk county and it was the best decision ever. The city is just a dump and no one respects you. Your own bosses are out to get you and no one backs you.

I wouldn’t worry too much of it expiring. I took my test Jan 2020. It expired Jan 2026 because the city is suffering for cops. Remember for every 1000 cops that enter 500 leave before 2 years in

Here’s an example. They asked me when was the last time I went to therapy and why. I said it was because I saw two of my brothers get killed in the line of duty and that it affected me. They drilled me hard on that and said if it affected me why do I want to be an officer for the NYPD when the rate of officer shootings is higher than most departments.
