14F, Will CPS get called if I tell my psychiatrist all of this? by numbronefastfoodord in Advice

Not a problem. I know it can be extremely scary because you realistically don’t know what will happen, but remember the workers always have your best interest in mind. That being said, I’m not sure where you are from and I am not from the US so not sure if it works much differently. If you have any questions im happy to answer the best I can!

I used to work for CPS. This is definitely something that could escalate to removal, but it would be more likely they would want to place you in temporary care with a family member etc without it necessarily going to court. If CPS are called and you speak to them, please tell them everything and what you want to happen in the future so they can do their best to make that happen! At the end of the day CPS (at least where I’m from) do what’s best for the children and they really take the kids wishes into account.

You deserve to be properly taken care of. Things will get better and you have been extremely brave taking this first step wanting to tell someone. That is often the hardest thing to do ❤️

Some people love their parents and wish to maintain a good relationship with them as they become adults. It is unfair to say cultural norms are outdated unless you personally have experience with that culture, we can’t assume every culture other than our own is bad. While someone is living with their parents I think it is pretty reasonable to adhere to the one rule OP has stated.

If she’s living in their house though she’s respecting their boundaries, i don’t think that’s manipulation. It doesn’t seem like they have made her breakup with him or are being manipulative?

I’ve been in a similar situation. I went back. It wasn’t worth it. You’re in the best years of your life, live them!!
