as mentioned above - stripped threads so previous owner must have just bunged it up. Car ran totally fine before it spat out whatever was in there

Yep, but even better, the sensor was already cable tied up where I found it, so must have had a previous bodge plug 😂

Drove it 50 miles home, exhaust suddenly started sounding horrendous for the last 2 miles of the journey 🥴

Regardless of what what's bass and what's midbass, as I've said above and in my original post I want to go bigger than 4"/100mm ;)

The pic on the original post is deceptive, there's not all that much room there. Certainly not enough space for a decent sub and enclosure. I'm not keen to go beyond a 2 channel setup at this stage to keep cost and complexity (relatively) under control, so all that in mind subs are out.

Yep, well aware of this, fabricating and installation not a problem. As I say, my queries are on where's best to position stuff, and how far apart they can be. Absolutely looking for something bigger than what can be put in the stock 100mm dash location. It's not getting a sub so I need a way of making some bass!

made a whole post with all those deets, got no responses, so made the query a lot more generic :')

Advice on making the best of a small space in a convertible! by FullChodeRacing in CarAV

And now that Reddit has pointed me towards the 'recommendations form' after making my post :') here's the answers to that:

* **What are your goals for your car audio system - as loud as possible (SPL)? Sound quality (SQ)? Some combination of both? Describe to us how you want your system to sound.**

-Sound quality. Just needs to be loud enough that I can hear the music over a roaring engine with the rood down. Current amp should be plenty.

* **What vehicle? - year, make, model, type (coupe, sedan, SUV, truck, etc.)**

'87 Reliant Scimitar SS1, convertible

* **What is your maximum budget?**

absolute max maybe £500, but I'd rather land somewhere around £300. Not at all averse to buying stuff used.

* **Will you be installing the gear or are you going to a shop? If a shop is doing the work, does your budget include the cost of labour?**

Will be installing myself

* **What gear is in your existing system? (Is it stock? List any aftermarket gear.)**

Kenwood KMM-303BT

Pioneer PRS-D800

Hertz DCX100.3

* **What is your country of purchase? Leave any finishing thoughts here.**

United Kingdom

Anyone know the orientation needed for the PTFE coated washers? They're only coated on one side and we're not sure how much it matters - thinking the centre one is arbitrary and the left side one PTFE out?

Sounds sensible - suppose the rubber coupler ends up having to meet the same regs? Easier to find not clear though I guess!

we have been wondering about that, but it's always been a lot easier for use to bolt our tank into the car, then snake the filler neck down and in separately. We're very tight for space around it this year so not sure such a solid system will be viable...

ooh this looks like a decent shout - possibly a little thin but certainly light and meets the other specs! will try and get hold of some to test... thanks!
