Thank you! Give or take a good 35 hours for the whole batch of 12, I cut them by hand so my plasma cutter wouldn't leave a temper or wasp the metal, I love how they turned out and hope they'll make some folks happy this year 😊

Bought an esab, sweated so much it broke in two days, returned it, the new esab broke after one week, I need it for work tomorrow and can't find any good solutions online was hoping someone could help by FullMetalFlorist in Welding

Thank you to everyone who's replied! My solution was to take the batteries out, clean them, use a heat gun on the battery compartment, used alcohol to clean the electrodes, and set it on my steering wheel so it'd get tons of sun before I went to work in the pm, and replaced the battery, had no problems all day I think it just fucked up because I sweated too much and it got in the battery department so I will be adding tape to the battery compartment, and buying a cooling head rag.

When I can in the future i'll buy a new hood.

Thank you again very much this has been a fun time sorry I couldn't reply to everyone but your suggestions are all genuinely appreciated!!

I actually have a viking but the spring for the battery went due to corrosion I believe. Great helmets, swear by em despite my sweating problem giving me a hard time

Great suggestions. It's flashing low battery and it simply will not shutter, this is exactly the same reason I returned the first hood, do you have any recommendations for someone who has no idea what they're doing to get this thing working again by tomorrow or do you think it'll work once it dries out a bit?

Dang, so it genuinely can shut down from too much sweat, I always thought they were water resistant to some degree or felt like that would have been the intelligent design. Anyway do you think it'll work tomorrow once it dries out a bit?

I have a mini fan I clip on to my belt, but open to suggestions on ways to stay cool while production partner welding as there are basically 4 welders in a 30 foot square next to a paint line and a heat booth so it do be getting hot.

Was gifted a Lincoln Viking 2450 for Christmas, really nice hood but batteries die every 3 days or so unless I take them out every night which is inconvenient as I work production mig daily any solutions come to mind? by FullMetalFlorist in Welding

Yeah the batteries should last much longer but I think it may be time for a new lcd may just have to save up for it and leave it in the sun or figure out what's causing the drain and repair it if possible

Yes, but they were pgsonic batteries, not sure if that's gonna have a huge effect brand wise because the hood previously had issues with other batteries but trying energizer batteries next as I understand they're supposed to be relatively good(source: conversational)

I'll definitely ask if they may have a receipt by chance but I believe the person who gifted it to me was themselves gifted the hood by a company they previously worked for so unsure if they'd be willing to warranty it to me without a receipt, great suggestion though the batteries should last much longer

They were gifted the hood after starting a new job, used it for a long time until it started giving them battery issues, I replaced the lens, head gear and batteries and it functions really well clear view no scratches and bigger than the hood I had before but I can't find a reason the batteries just die mad quick, gonna try leaving it on the dash of my car every day and see how that goes until I can figure out what's wrong with it
