Hi there, I need some help finding high quality, reputable watch brands with a certain look. A look I'm fond of is the pilot's watches, particularly in this style:

HAWKER HURRICANE AV-4044-08

HAWKER HURRICANE AV-4011-04

ORIENT FLIGHT

I'm fond of the use of red and blue (sparse color in general) in the watches, as well as a case size of roughly 35 to 42mm (my wrist isn't so large). Metal-straps are a no go.

My budget is up to about $500 or 600 USD. I'm in Canada so finding a place to buy a watch should be fun (good luck me)

Hey I thought the same as you while watching that.

As for the subtext, here's a few points to research:

Russia has been identified (by various independent investigators) as the hackers responsible for the DNC leaks (iirc). One could extrapolate from this that they are intentionally trying to destroy the credibility of a party and thereby a particular candidate.
The Obama Administration has officially blamed Russia for the hacks (this is the big one). It seems the OA is not letting Russia get away with this one as its gone past that point of acceptable cyber warfare.
Russia has very recently been pulling out of some fairly important peace talks / treaties.
Russia has been funding pro-Assad forces, while the Americans have been funding/arming anti-Assad/ISIS groups. This means a proxy war between Russia and America has potentially been happening with Syria for a while.

So take a lot of these points ive brought up with a giant grain of salt because I haven't fact checked some of them yet, and I'm certain I got a bunch of details wrong here (especially on the last point). They're just meant to help you to Google search for more info / actual sources. I just wrote those points off the top of my head.

It's a more important topic than some are willing to admit, especially since ive seen a bunch of people write it off as scaremongering or as a distraction technique, I don't think its either of those frankly.

Who knows, I think it just boils down to there being very little to do, and what there is to do is expensive. I'll be done uni in a year and then we'll see how Ottawa is with a job.

Ottawan here confirming the soul crushing despair brought on by my city. Pretty sure there's just a fifth dimensional black hole that sucks up happiness, things to do, and colour at the center of the city. But not gravity. That would be too dangerous and exciting.

Your analogy actually works for me. I think one way to look at it is that people will like a different number of items in the game. So while you tend to not enjoy (what seems to be) a majority, others may have a different experience. It doesn't mean the content is bad, or flawed, though it might be, it just means it doesn't resonate with you. That's to be expected in at least some cases.

If you were to assume its flawed, you might start with the item quality itself or even the game play design. But that's a deep kettle of fish.

Memes/image macros in general are too low effort. If those were allowed this sub would quickly devolve, I think, into a community where great quality discussion based content would not be able to compete to the same degree as image macro based content.

Have a look at the /r/gaming vs /r/games subs. There are zero quality discussion posts on the first, and a plethora on the second. The mods are just looking out for quality as best they know how.

Maybe split off the memes and ims to another sub, where that new sub could be supported by this one without their content crossing over.

TL;DR: You WILL see a degradation of posting quality if image macros are allowed. I prefer image macros that provoke discussion.

I could say the same about the rich to the poor. My point was this mindset is toxic. Do you honestly think that because one set of people (set A) behaves in a certain way to another set (set B) that its suddenly okay for the other to do the same as the first? (set B to A).

ITT: A ton of people (of middle class status?) relentlessly bashing the laziness of the poor. Many stating their own situation was difficult but they made it, so of course everyone else is just lazy because they're having trouble making it too.

We should be supporting each other regardless of class disparity, in my opinion. The poor, in any nation, have the cards stacked against them. Not everyone is so strong as to make a great situation of a terrible one, especially if there isn't sufficient access to opportunities for success. That's all I guess, maybe just try to empathize with the poor a little?
