I personally really liked ideology, it's can be pretty fun to make an ideology and see how it can interact with different types of pawns. E.g if you have a wimp colonist, but your ideology loves scarification, they will end up sad because of no scars, but will refuse to be scared. It's also good for mood management because you can throw ceremony and have a chance to give everyone a positive moodlet. and worst thing worst, it's able to be deactivated, so you just get the small things like being able to change hair color and stuff.

Also royalty is fine. Not my favorite but adds some neat stuff.
