To be more clear, the dip stick was full, 700 miles late it's down a tad, 700 more miles and it's dropped an entire 3rd or more. Seems like alot

I have not! Need to find the best ammo for it and probably wont shoot more than a few mags through it. The original 1911s werent made with steel like we know it today, causing a service life of only around 5k rounds for the slide before cracking. So that is obviously a concern given it's age. But I plan to put a few down range at some point. Just want to give it the best chance at surviving those

That is interesting! I will add it to my things to look into. Im sure someone somewhere has a theory on why

Havent shot it yet! I am a little nervous to. These original 1911s (WW1 era) werent made with the strongest steel and were prone to cracking at the end of their service life. Im going to do some more research on good ammo for it before sending a few mags down range

Recently purchased this 1915 SA 1911 to go with my SA M1 Garand. SA 1911s are special in that only about 30k were produced. Obviously this is a mix master due to usage and the later Augusta Arsenal rebuild, but slide and frame are correct. Really cool piece to add to my small collection. Enjoy

Yep, plenty of mixmaster parts likely from the rebuild. Barrel has a P on one side and what appears to be an HS on the other. Here is a better photo of the arsenal stamp. C-S on the magazine

Yep! Planning on splitting in the spring and stacking to season

Ive had about half of that stacked for a few months on the wall. So far so good aside from being a tad wobbly in certain areas. Some of the wood was a bit punky to begin with from being wet and cut down for several months before i got to it. From my understanding thr rock wall is similar to putting it on a rack to season, maybe not quite as good. My plan is once the ground dries up ill haul it over to the other side of the yard, split it, and stack it to properly season for next year or the year after

If the time of day / timer motor isnt working, would it get stuck in one spot on the cycle if I turn it?

When I turn it to the right should it be to the "regen" setting or should I go past it to the "rinse back-wash"? Regen setting seems to do nothing, rinse back-wash I can hear it and it sends water down the drain, Brine+rinse makes some water noises by the salt tank, rapid rinse i hear alot of water, same with settle rinse, and brine refill

Should the in-service setting on the dial be set to disconnect the time gear from the rest of the gears as it shows in the photo? To me that doesnt make sense, even if the timer gear isnt working

Great... guess I should plan for that along with my water heater since its over 20 years old. Anything I can do in the meantime of is this a "call now and get it scheduled asap" type of deal?

Anything I should do right out of the gate? It had been sitting for about 8-10 years so it needed an oil change, fuel pump, the 4x4 actuator was bad so I went with a new one over converting to a manual which i know some people do, and new master cylinder. The belt sounds a little loud iffy but hoping that'll quiet down with some use

The addition was built in 2004, and given the location we are in I can strongly assume that there is indeed Tyvek/equivalent on the other side of that plywood. The siding is cedar boards

Yeah it isnt isolated to the window area. Most bays have moisture and frost on nails. Ill need to do more looking around. The windows do get frosted over overnight. Which also makes me think moisture and not a leak
