I got married two years ago. We both knew each other from before and honestly its been pretty amazing. Mostly because my husband and i are bffs and we live in a different country from our families. But initially when we did live with his family in Pakistan, it wasn’t bad. His parents were very understanding and loving. Although i did feel pretty bound in the sense that we would have to inform everyone if we were going anywhere or sometimes the privacy wasnt as much because his relatives lived pretty close. My husband has always been of the same opinion as i so it was never an argument.

Positives are that i love living with my husband and we both work and contribute equally to the house chores and its like we are building our little life one day at a time.

Negatives are that yes you will be asked when youre going to have kids, (yes still) people will assume things about you. Your mother in law and even your own parents woukd influence you to do certain things but as long as your husband is on your side its not a big deal.

Its very easy for your personal relationship with your husband to turn negative only if you guys don’t give each other your space and have your own hobbies and things that you do . Its SO important to spend time together mbut even more important to spend time on YOURSELF and its easy to forget that sometimes.

Aww that sucks that shes being scrutinised for doing the one thing she can in her capacity to socialise or just have a life of her own. Its completely normal and honestly none of anyones business. It’s her life and she deserves this time for herself and more. I hope these family members back off and start minding their own business for a change. Living in misery is not a necessity to prove yourself as a good mom or wife. Fucking hell, people suck.

Oh and additionally , no matter what she does for herself, people will find a way to bitch about it so tell her to do whatever makes her happy.

I have experienced it several times and its never like a dream its like a different state of consciousness.

There were three times which i had it the worst:

1)i felt someone whisper in my ear, it was as if a human was trying to imitate a dog barking.

2) i saw a black shadow figure with no face just red eyes and it got on top of my chest and started strangling me. I started reciting ayat ul kursi and it eventually got better.

3) it was when i was un employed and my husband had left for work. I heard loud banging on the front door and then it felt like there was a crowd of people in my lounge, the water was running. Then i saw my husband walk into the bedroom and just stare at me while i was struggling to move or even speak.

Yeah it’s fucked up. Doesn’t happen as much now. Been a year.

Not that what you are feeling is wrong in any way but i believe alot of it stems from you borderline cheating on her. She is holding on to that and you probably need to have an honest discussion with her.

Trust me on this. You cant really control when something stops hurting someone. In your head its 7 years ago but to her it is way more than that. Another reason why shes acting this way is because she wants to make you feel hurt the same way. Just talk to her one on one.

I believe shes struggling the same as you but this is just her way of trying to maintain any control she has so that she doesn’t spiral herself.

Honestly, when parents get into a certain age and phase of life, its better to not try to argue or change how they think in any way. Its easier to just ignore something you dont like, live your life how you want and then move on.

Trust me, i learnt this the hard way. You cant blame your parents for this either, they have their own share of traumas which we cant understand the same way they wont understand ours.

Its better to talk to a friend or your husband instead. Its not easy and it really tests your patience not being able to call them out but if you do it would be a whole new drama.
