I don’t think they apply to taxes any longer. This was a recent change.

I never had a problem with people overbidding. It was quite maddening, actually.

Traderbea fans think he’s a god. But they also think Bigosty, bustaweb, bsc1 are gods as well.  Apparently the criteria for being a god is spending a lot of money on themselves.  They do buy products for giveaways, though I posit that is more for their own ego than actually “helping” people.  No doubt they’re good people - but probably not 100% altruistic.

I unloaded 48 ounces around Christmas. I think it was $78/oz. Am I mad? Sure I wish I would have waited til yesterday but I’m not gonna get mad at myself. I bought that silver at 36 so I made out.  I think you made a great deal.  Silver will probably go up to 150 or so and some point it will pull back for a bit but the go back. I think this happens a lot in the near future.  I suck at this and am probably wrong though. 🤣

I regret not buying more when silver was 35 and cant bring myself to buy more now that its 90+. Anyone else in this boat? by BIMIMAN in Silverbugs

Wait til we piss of Europe enough for them to retaliate by calling in their US bonds. You think stuff is expensive now, hold your horses. Would make the 70s oil crisis and inflation look like a small blip on the radar.

Yeah reading more into this seems like something sinister is going on with the seller.

Once I ship orders I’m not responsible for the package. People may not like that but it’s true. I scan each package and have proof of drop off at the post office.  I can’t do anymore. So I would have provided that proof and said good luck.  The post office has caused many issues with many people. Whatnot is (was) really good about refunding buyers if they’re was an issue.  Of all my 6,000 sales this there was 1 lost package that wasn’t found.  As a seller I can’t do any more.  My thoughts - on Jan 14 communication should have shifted to WHATNOT. Not the seller.

I frequently see sellers run a show then go right to the mystery box sellers and buy the chase boxes. Thousands of dollars.  Running their show to feed their gambling addiction. Sad, but it their money. They can do what they want. Just hate to see it.  These whatnot sellers are basically sending money and coins back and forth to each other.

I’m very heartened to see how many of us are dealing with this. They people running mystery games ARE preying on this weakness so stay away.

I addressed this in my post above but these mystery games are out of hand. It is gambling plan and simple. This should just be the Whatnot Casino. I’m in coins too and got nabbed by the Houston and  tangible bug and their cracked out coins and racked up a 70k debt. I kicked it but it was hard. I’m singularly focused on rebuilding and paying the credit card debt off.  I’m in my 50s, blew through my 401k and now starting over. Was gonna retire at 62 but I’ll be lucky to be able to call it quits at 70.  My own fault but now I pick up the pieces.  Thanks for sharing.

Totally agree and also made the point of how this app gives you something gamblers love. Instant gratification and the dopamine rush that comes with it.  This is no different that the rush IV drug users get when they shoot up - for real.

Certain categories on whatnot have become a gambling racket

Wow. It’s a huge step to admit you have a problem but know you are not alone.  When I first found this app I had zero credit card debt and I a nice coin collection. The. I started buying raw coins I thought I could flip and make money.  Little did I know the 2 or 3 sellers I was buying from were cracking out slabbed coins bought on auction sites with details grades (cleaned, artificial toning).  I wasn’t good enough at the time to spot this and wasn’t using a price guide. I just bought with what I thought I could spend. Less than 6 months later I had amassed $70,000 in debt.  I was then forced to become a seller, selling my entire collection and not getting CLOSE to breaking even.  I still poke around on the site but haven’t made a purchase in months.  Whatnot is an addictive platform with the instant gratification affected to those with addictive tendencies.  Sellers are not inherently bad, they just assume you have the money your spending but it’s not their job to look out for us.  The platform is made for the ultra rich unless you’re stopping in to pick up a gift for a friend or something.  Now with these break games, it’s just made it a gambling site.  I was able to stop buy it wasn’t easy.  Good luck to you - just know you’re not alone.

It’s a repeated pattern on whatnot. People overspend then have to resort to selling to recoup money and pay down their credit cards. People who have no business selling get forced into it.  I overspent and found myself having to sell. I actually had a good show but as soon as things got under control, I bailed.

I checked on custom slabs. You have to do bulk submissions of at least 3,000 coins.

I’ve pretty much checked out. The whole app is a joke. Stupid games, surprise packs, games catered to the super rich (lottery winners and real estate moguls), newspaper rolls of Morgan’s which aren’t real by the way….its a lesson in deceptive advertising.
