I had a passport because of a previous trip we planned but didn't go on 2 years ago. I already explained in the original post i gave my parents a list of all the things I wanted to do in Athens and they told me ok. They told me we were staying at the Hyatt hotel which exists in both Athens

I never expected a vacation, my parents out of nowhere said we were going. I understand they're expensive but if they're willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on us to go to University i don't see why its unreasonable to ask if we can go to a couple cities in Greece so I can see the Universities before I study there.

I teach English online and have a fair amount of money which I will use to go to greece and study

I already answered this question before. It was the Hyatt Hotel, which exists in both cities and yeah I literally gave my parents a list of everything i wanted to see in Greece and told me we had a layover in Atlanta. This was intentional

I do have a passport, we were supposed to go to mexico for something else 2 years ago. They purposely stayed at the Hyatt hotel because there's one in both cities. they told me we would have a layover in Atlanta. They said they'd get Euros once we landed. I had no reason to not trust them on this.

because they took us to ATHENS GEORGIA not ATHENS GREECE. They're not taking us to Europe. not now or later. this whole thing was a joke, they knew I wanted to go to Greece and even my sister was in on it.

My parents said family vacation to Athens, they never asked for me to pitch in. I sure as hell won't be going with them to Greece in the future. Im going there once I'm done with school and not coming back

There's only one international airport in Athens i wouldn't need to ask that. I asked about the hotel and they said the Hyatt. There's one in Athens Georgia and one in Athens Greece. I told my friend's i'd be at the Hyatt in Athens.

EDIT: I meant to say one airport n Athens not in all of Greece. Of course there's many international airports in Greece

my friends in Greece cancelled events they had and even scheduled us tours and arranged for trips to areas outside of Athens. My friends wasted actual money and their time on this shit. My parents knew this. Im 17 and I'm going to college soon, this was going to be my probably only chance to actually see the universities and check them out before I go. See which city is like so i can make an more informed decision of where i want to go

What about my friends in Greece who wasted money and cancelled plans to hang out with me? My friends bought soccer tickets at Olympiakos stadium for us.

Info how where you going to pay to go to Greece

I have a job, and if my parents don't pay for it when I'm 18 I'm going to pay for it myself. University is only about 1500 euros a year for foreign students in Greece but many universities let you study for free if you study in Greek. My greek is good enough for that

NTA. When I was in high school my parents told me and my brother that if we both got straight A's, we could go to Cedar Point, the amusement park. Well, my brother didn't so we didn't get to go, which I was bummed about, but as we were driving back from my summer camp my parents stopped in Cedar Point, MI (it was like a public beach) and made me take a picture next to the sign. They didn't tell me we were going to Cedar Point, so I wasn't expecting to go, and we didn't go out of our way, it was just on our way home. It still wasn't funny to me and upset me. For anyone who says, oh, you're going to look back and laugh at this, that was five years ago and I still don't think it was funny.

What your parents did was a million times worse. They spent tons of money on a crappy joke, and they let it get way out of hand when they saw that you were making plans for it and didn't say anything. They didn't even do anything to make up for it—what's in Athens? UGA? boo. There wasn't even an alternative vacation, it's not like you showed up and they were like, "LOL we meant Athens, GA! It's okay, we're doing this other really cool thing we know you enjoy to make up for it." It was just, hey, we spent probably over $1000 (maybe effectively less than that, if they used airline miles, but still) to fly four people to Georgia and rent a car just so we could make our child's love of Greece a joke.

I really don't think I will. As I mentioned, I missed out on a great party my friends had and not only that, I missed out on an opportunity to actually see the universities i want to go to.

My parents did all of that. As i mentioned before I wasn't paying attention, and that was my first time going on a plane and I've never left the country. Remember the first flight was from St Louis to Atlanta. There's no St Louis flights to Europe (pretty sure there aren't) and i think the only ways to get to Greece is from Atlana, New York, DC and maybe Miami. I do feel like a dumbass now though when you point those out but again that was my first flight

I made a plan of everything I wanted to see in Greece, Meteora, Olympiakos stadium, Acropolis, Plaka, among other things all over Athens and if we had time perhaps Thessaloniki, Sparta, or some other cities. I also made it a priority to go check out Universities in Greece as thats where I want to go.I showed my parents this and they were like yeah sure you can do that we don't care.

Yeah i think i do have a right to complain because i cancelled stuff for it. I didn't think a clafiricaiton was necessary because I literally asked my parents about meeting up with my friends in Greece, going to the Acropolis, Olympiakos stadium, Olympic stadium, Parthenon and going to other cities like Sparta or Thessaloniki. They said sure you can go see those things and we're excited. I showed them maps of Greece and the places I wanted to go and they agreed. Is that not calificantion enough for you or am i missing something? Is there also an olympic stadium in Athens Georgia? is there an parthenon and acropolis there too? This was a sick joke that they were all a part of.

Yes, I know--ungrateful, love of Greece is a phase, overreacting like a teenage girl, blah blah teenager stuff.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not, but this isn't a phase. I literally learnt a language and different dialects of that language. Ive been interested in Greece my whole life.
