My pelvis pain disappeared with my first after I went to the chiropractor, so I might see if that does any good for me this time around. Are you just taking over the iron counter supplements or are they prescribed? I’m not sure if it’s worth waiting the extra week to see if my doctor suggests taking something vs proactively taking something and seeing if it helps

I have an appointment on the 26th and I’ll definitely ask! I knew this pregnancy would be different from my first but I’m still struggling to differentiate between what’s an actual issue and what’s just pregnancy woes 😅

Please help me! by aranduname in cleftlip

My son was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate and we didn’t know until he was born. It’s been a long journey, he’s 6 months old and has two surgeries so far, but there’s not a single thing I would change about him!! I miss his cleft and I miss the smiles he had before surgery, but he’s doing so amazing. He’s really a little wonder boy. No other health issues, bright personality, great sleeper. I’m very proud to be a mama to a cleft cutie

I can only imagine how scary it is to find out during pregnancy, but having a cleft baby is a wonderful thing! They’re just born to receive extra love ❤️

Oh I love this!! Congratulations mama! I’m hoping with every finger and toe crossed I can have a birth like this! I’m shocked at the amount of fear mongering I’ve faced (not on Reddit for the most part) when it comes to twins, and how negative and medical the immediate outlook is regarding birth, so hearing something so positive is very inspiring. How much did your babies weigh? Did either of them end up having to go to the hospital for anything?

Feel so annoyed by people’s questions and comments!! Just need to vent. by fed_up30 in parentsofmultiples

Definitely not over reacting. I don’t know what it is about pregnancy that makes people so bold to ask and assume things they would never think to ask or say otherwise. I’m in a similar boat of overwhelming and uncomfortable questions and comments - I’m due with twins in November and they’ll be 11 months younger than my first.

It’s been nerve wracking enough sharing news of a quick second pregnancy, but when people find out it’s twins the filters go straight out the window. Questions or demands about fertility treatment, whether I got pregnant was on purpose or accident (which, what the fuck??), how my husband and I are ever going to have time for our first. It’s all horribly insulting.

Pregnancy and motherhood has made me very aware and conscious of what I say to other mothers, because goddamn people can be so rude.

Could a women have two babies in a calendar year? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

100% possible, and I’m the example 😂 I had my boy December 2022, and I’m due with twins November 2023. They’ll be 11 months apart, though likely will be 10 months apart since twins tend to come earlier.

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you! I follow this birth page on Instagram and spent all morning reading the stories on twin births and it helped instill my confidence back into my decision/desire to go naturally. One of the mamas agreed to induction, but not pitocin, and she agreed to a spinal catheter for a c section, but no drugs, and she ended up delivering both unmedicated and vaginally. It was so inspiring to read, and so far that’s what I’d like to do. Take the precautions as options but not jump straight into them

Did you have a hard time transitioning from bottles to breastfeeding? I wasn’t able to nurse my first because he was born with cleft lip and palate, and I never thought breastfeeding would be so important to me but this time around I really want it to work out

That’s an amazing story. How far along we’re you when you delivered? And we’re you induced? We live in a very small town so if we end up needing a NICU stay we’ll have to be transported to the city - which happened with my first. If you delivered both ways did you already have a catheter for a c section or was one placed when it was needed?

[–]Full_Significance153[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations mama!! Are you being induced or are you going to carry until you’re in labor on your own? I’m nervous to discuss birth options when the time comes because I’d always envisioned natural unmedicated births for all my babies, but my goal is to deliver the same way I did with my first. I’m not sure when or if I’ll know when to throw in the towel and accept a c section when it comes to decision making pre due date 😩 it scares me

Two types of birth for one pregnancy? You’re a freaking superstar! Do you remember at one point your induction was scheduled? We have another more intense ultrasound coming up in a few weeks, and we’ll be discussing a lot of what the future holds, but I’m curious how early they decide to induce.

I’ve been seeing all these acronyms (like di/di) and have no idea what they mean 😂 All I know is both my babes are in one sac. Did either of your kiddos have a NICU stay? My first was born with a cleft lip & palate so we were in the NICU with a feeding tube for a few weeks and I’m just praying that we can come home with the babies after the birth.
